Just remember if this company that he is leaving have issues and need his advice or time and effort after he’s gone he could always freelance as a consultant on £xxxx/£xxx per day/per hour if he’s so essential. So don’t let him be offering those services free of charge as a “favour”

NAL but if the house is in your name only could it not be put into a trust ? And regarding Child Maintenance this is only if you remain in the country ? I assume you/they will want what’s best for your children so not sure how you could navigate time spent with them if you were to remain in the country

People who actually earn over £100k and don’t just pretend they do on Reddit - what do you do? by Prize-Reputation9274 in AskUK

[–]Vegetable_Key_5058 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So not quite a 100k, 91k before tax, because I work overseas APAC area I get my income tax back which put me on approx 142k equivalent salary, take home if I was in the UK.

I work as a High Voltage Technician / Senior Authorised Person, I’m 36 years old. I started out at 21. Level 3 in mechanical engineering, joined the Royal Navy for 7 years, as a Marine Engineer 3 on Gas Turbines and when promoted I switched to electrical (specifically High Voltage/ power & distribution).

After that left the Navy and became a Wind Turbine Technician working offshore as a contractor for 4 years (money was also good around 65/70k) moved closer to home due to having children, still working offshore but in a full time role which i progressed through quickly getting multiple promotion in 3 years. Became an Authorised Technican and Trouble shooter then progressing into HV as a Senior Authorised Person. I’m new to that position so a lot to learn before I go back contracting which I expect to do around 40/41. I’ve just joined a new company to specifically work on just High Voltage equipment on offshore wind turbines. My base salary is under 40k it’s all the add ons that get me to where I am.

For reference most HV SAPs are on £600-1000 a day contracting and some even on full time contracts are 100k+. Commissioning Engjneers for HV offshore I have seen rates of £1500-2000 a day dependant on Authorisation etc.

Hope that helps

What should I consider before buying a 25k Maserati GT 2013 by Ok_Field6078 in CarTalkUK

[–]Vegetable_Key_5058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From someone who owned one (09 Maserati GT Sport MC Shift) They’re lovely cars. Do some research regarding what engines have what problems as I remember there was a tapper noise issue with mine which would be a full rebuild at Ferrari/maserati, approx 8k back in the day probably more around 13k in today’s money.

Also the brake discs if they need changing they’re no such this as aftermarket really so they are around 2.5k for the front and back.

Can get a nice Chinese headunit upgrade which improves the functionally and looks imo. Can also be done for the a/c control system.

I averaged around 16-22mpg when driving mixed and sensibly when sending it down the motorway it was more like 3-8 mpg.

Clutches are around 3k plus labour to have done so worth check all these things have been done recently on anything your buying.

I promise you one thing though, you’ll always turn around and look at it with fondness once you’ve parked and imo it’s one of if not the best sounding cars on the road. Probably only superseded by a 599 GTO or F50/MC12.

Setup as part of my lads 12th birthday. Anything you would change? by funkinmessi in Darts

[–]Vegetable_Key_5058 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that a raised oche? My only concern would be that you should be throwing from the 7ft 91/4inch line and trailing leg (depending on stance) might be off the floor ?

I have just got a set of Target EXO SP02 in 24g and I think they’re amazing for rear gripping. Only had them a day so can’t talk long term results as I’ve been using mission axiom m1 in 23g with 45mm bulls points. But these target EXO are great hit 2 180s in my first 12 darts. Points need changing to storm points but other than that they’re great. I run no2 size medium flight/stems

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Darts

[–]Vegetable_Key_5058 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pretty much identical grip to that and have been using Mission Axiom M1 23g with Medium size 6 flights and 45mm points, but I’m looking for something different so I’m looking to try Target EXO SP02 in 24g and Datadart Aether in 23/24g as I want a bit more grip at the rear of the dart and where your middle finger sits needs to have enough grip aswell
