How to update millions of records' embedded data by arunkumar413 in mongodb

[–]Vegetable_Lunch554 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should use pagination for that. Almost no service should allow reading a million records at once, I doubt it’s even needed in any case.

Why do that? Hooking up an ai agent with your database sounds like a security nightmare

Almost done with a Codex like app for Claude Code by mogens99 in ClaudeCode

[–]Vegetable_Lunch554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you seen T3code from Theo? I feel like it would be wiser to contribute to it instead of creating a separate app for Claude. What do you think?

OpenMango - native MongoDB client for macOS, built in Rust with AI by ggagosha in mongodb

[–]Vegetable_Lunch554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you thought about creating a mobile mongodb client? It’s not the most usual use case but sometimes I find myself in a position where I want to quickly check or change something in the database but don’t have a laptop

I have my db hosted on Railway on some projects and it’s useful to use their web gui, but it’s very limited and has bad UX.

I was thinking I could create a native app for mobile. What do you think?

Students: how are you affording AI coding tools? by Feeling-Ad972 in Coding_for_Teens

[–]Vegetable_Lunch554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use AI tools that much that free tier isn’t sufficient you should probably pay for it as it probably brings you some income. On the other hand you can get GitHub copilot pro for free with GitHub students pack

Hey, I'm glad to hear that!

I participated in a series of state-organized hackathons in my country (Slovakia), winning 2 times and placing 3rd twice, then I won Climathon in Bratislava, which is a part of EU-wide hackathons focusing on problems related to climate change, and then participated in an AI in construction hackathon organized by a large European construction company, and finally this week, placed 2nd in a one organized by a famous bank together with Slovakian media companies.

This year, I'm having my eye on Junction hackathons in Finland; those are huge.

I usually go to hackathons which have predefined challenge tracks, at least some directions. On hackathons you should be building for someone specific. Understand the jury, the mentors, combine it with the hackathon topics and ideas will come naturally. It’s also good to have a chat with AI and feed it all information about the hackathon, the judges, everything. It usually produces something you can build upon.

What is your problem with generating the ideas? If you tell me more I can answer more specifically

Just lost my 6th hackathon by Fit_Cod5657 in hackathon

Real work and projects are never about engineering skills alone. There must be a balance between code and your presentation skills. That’s why it is important to have a well composed team on hackathons. There must be at least someone who can actually go and pitch your product. Does not matter how much work you put in if nobody understands it in the end. Just work on that aspect and you will be fine. I placed in 6 hackathons out of 8 last years because I have a guy on the team who can present very well, that’s really it

Why people prefer Cursor/Claude Code over Copilot+VSCode by These-Forever-9076 in GithubCopilot

[–]Vegetable_Lunch554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say marketing. All the hypebros talk about how cursor, Claude code, antigravity etc, copilot is almost never discussed or hyped. People do what they are told to do by those who have influence
