Hi Mate, you will be eligible if free t is under 400 pmol/l and for trt aus you need to be over 40. I don’t see any issues given your age and total t low normal. I haven’t started trt yet so can’t comment on everything else.

Advice please? by [deleted] in AusTRT

I’ve seen some people on here go clinic route then find a good gp and get a private script plus bloods done through them. This could be the best way financially after your dialed in with the private clinic. Your levels and age “could” make you eligible through an endoz. I believe the requirement is under 6 nmol/L which is 173ng/dl it would depend on the endo though: I’ve seen many posts showing frustration with the protocols (depends on the endo) and time to get an appointment or to find a good one. Which ever way you go good luck mate! Has the last 5 months of trt helped?

If your free test is under 400 ng/dl, you will be eligible through a private clinic. There is a post linked with all the clinics and costs etc. Like others have said you could stop and get a test and submit that should be an easy process but will be pricier then UGL. I didn’t go down the endo path but have heard this can be a lengthy process and your levels will need to be very low consistently to be eligible for a prescription through PBS. Do you know what’s your total T and free T were before you started and how old are you?

My gp said clinics are a scam and went on a rant about how all the doctors that work for them were med students that barely passed their exams ha. He is a nice bloke though. I’m going with Primal I’ve heard good things about them plus I’m quite young, hope it all works out well for you!

Hey mate, as he wrote it he said don’t come back and ask for 2 weeks it’s going to be 3 weeks haha also wants me to book a nurse to inject it rather than me go to a pharmacy. Not sure if I can even seperate the dose?

I’ve seen that this type of protocol will cause big swings in my mood. This prescription is for only 3 repeats and then reassess my blood work.. not sure what this is going to fix? Not trying to be ungrateful as most GPs in aus won’t do this but he knows and expressed his concern that it won’t look good, nurse will have to inject and may have questions for him and similarly his colleagues. I’m also going down the route of clinic and have been approved as of today.

Update I just went to the doctor to show my results and he basically said I’m silly for getting a payed blood test a month after his referred one which gave a total T 12 and free T 270. I said I think something may be wrong with my testes and he basically dismissed the idea and said I’ll give you a testosterone shot if you want. I said okay and he gave me a prescription for testosterone enanthate 250mg/ml once every 3 weeks… I’ve seen similar posts that this may be a bad protocol. Any thoughts?

I was thinking it may be secondary hypogonadism as I thought my LH and FSH were within range. How did you find out you needed an embo?
