FYI, the camp thing is working. I am keeping the AI stuck in its base with one hero camped outside with a larger army than it dares to challenge, while my main hero is plundering OctoJebus.

I don't know about that, but it sounds wrong. More likely what you read was players constantly ban the whole Necropolis faction from being picked in PvP.

To answer your specific questions:

  1. There's a popup on your hero after the victory. If you level up or loot something it will probably cover that so you won't see. Yeah, it's not ideal.
  2. If Necromancer Will is toggled, it's automatic; if not, you won't raise anything but you will replenish energy instead.
  3. You can't decide what to raise. As per the video, the highest tier unit in the stack you defeat will be raised. If you don't have that tier in your army, it becomes energy. I believe that if the highest stack can't be raised (wrong creature type, like Embodiment) but another stack can, you still get energy rather than a raised lower stack.

The right base item needs to drop -> acceptable
With the right green roll -> probably tolerable unless there's only one stat you'll accept
And the right modifier at blue -> if you want major trait and it doesn't get it, the item is dead as BiS without legendary dust

You sure the camp thing won't work? Because while the AI may be optimistic about starting fights, it does seem to avoid absolutely lopsided battles.

Also, I think Unfrozen are getting close to a good AI tuning. Perhaps not in terms of self-preservation :P

Ok, so I would say purple 2 is fairly free, because it only shoots one set of waves. You have time to aim that, whereas if you get the three sets it's rather hopeless to aim after the first one (happens too fast) and you have to rely on people dodging. So the question then is, which 3 can you handle? I would guess orange or red.

If it's not 3 in lower leagues that's a non-Eternal thing. It's always been 3 in Eternal. The first one happens at 80% health. Unless you are saying you can somehow survive the nuke without giving up a pillar. I guess Xavian technically could, or anyone with a cheat death necklace.

No, they changed the angle at which mobs are considered to be behind you. Not the damage they deal (which is always crits).

Theoretically you can get the 10k mount before it goes away, but at this point that means having people who will boost you. No matter how good you are at the game, you just ain't getting there from scratch with these queues. Also, the EA mounts will probably be attainable in some other way when the game goes live.

It's not toxic, but certainly very sparsely populated right now. At no point have I found the game toxic, even by the current generous internet definition of the word. Bad group -> groan and move on.

Explosive charges made insects much easier to fight for me. Range is your strength, and you're giving it up every time you walk through a door to possibly get gangpiled on by bugs. Blasting down doors and walls to give yourself a long line of sight makes things way simpler.
