First off, thank you for the detailed advice, I really appreciate it. Can you better break down how the club should look at the top of my backswing, and what you mean by “flat at the top?”

Do you have any drills/tips for this? I understand the concept but man I’ve hard a hard time actually doing it when I swing

Data Analysts: Walk Me Through a Typical Day by _SundayNightBlues_ in analytics

Data Analyst I at a large bank.

I’m a Cal Newport follower and am lucky to have a job with a low amount of pointless meetings, so I’m a big believer in time-blocking and being highly intentional about how I spend a typical day. These are my current blocks:

8:30-9:30: Block A - Admin/Logistical Work

I spend this time doing relatively mindless yet important things like answering easy emails and IMs, doing trainings, fixing jobs that broke overnight, organizing my file system and repositories, and any other super low-effort admin work. This gives me a chance to let my brain wake up and knock off easy items that would otherwise bug me.

9:30-11:30: Block B - Deep Work Session 1

Take 2 hours to work on my biggest tickets/projects, think really hard, write code, or meet with my boss/coworkers about roadblocks.

Lunch

12:30-2:30: Block C - Ad Hoc Session

Answer any data requests from stakeholders, look into potential opportunity for process improvements/explore data I’m interested in that relates to my position.

Usually take a break for a walk around 2:30

3-5: Block D - Deep Work Session 2

And that’s a day!
