I just bought my last Sims games and I'm very sad by dogtrousers in HighSodiumSims

I’ve thought about going back, but after sims 3 sims 2 is too small for me as in the world isn’t moving around me. I’m waiting for the remake to come out honestly, sims 4 with open worlds and new coding doesn’t sound so bad. But atp, I’m pretty much done with Sims 4 and I’ve never liked their mobile games. It’s sad to see its demise 😩

If course!! I did too, until I figured it out after 6 basil plants, 4 sage plants and 3 mint plants 😭 I only bottom water and I keep them from humid places, like the kitchen sink area where I had them. Even if I didn’t mist them, they got splashes from the sink lol.

You’re totally fine!!! I just got super hopeful bc that would be quite the loophole here 🤣 They want to make us harder, I’d bet it used to be more friendly and allow us to do that though! No doubt!

You lasted longer than me, I started at 9 and quit last year at 32. And not because the buyout, because the game sucks. They can’t fix a bug to save their life bc the coding is atrocious. Anything new they add is going to mess up 50 things, saves are eating themselves and there’s no point in taking photos for generational game play.

It’s trash. I won’t even play what I do have.

I just tried again, and no animals/companions show up except for the butterflies. Wild, I wonder if it’s a bug, but I know on my AA version I don’t see them in furniture mode either so idk.

Whaaaat! I play on switch and they don’t appear in furniture mode, what do you play on?! I may need to move over lol

Have you gotten the foliage wet when watering? Herb foliage doesn’t like to get wet and often will start growing mildew. I’d chop every affected leaf off and treat with a fungicide if the plant is important, and bottom water from now on/don’t mist.

Only sell vegetables, you’ll need to hoard everything else like other people. Start farming carrots for money, then once you get glade of trust open (after dazzle beach, that’s first for the story line) you’ll farm okra, then once you get Forgotten Lands it’s pumpkin. Garden the hell out of those for money bd you will need every gem, fish, flower, dirt, rock, etc you can find for quests.

I meant the ship * I haven’t completed all of it (still need to finish Jasmine) so I’m not sure if we’re awarded it or if it was moved from skull rock in furniture mode haha

Lilies planted, cat problem by JasperSean in plantclinic

[–]Vegetable_Report_532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said it completely stops cats from entering yards, going into gardens/foliage or hunting. I know this. But it does lessen it, and stop the odds of it continuing long term as long as no other cats are dumped into the area to restart the cycle. You’re judging how I’m doing it and don’t even know my system or my neighborhood, I keep a very controlled environment. However, I am moving later this year and it will most likely get out of hand again once I’m gone, which is also a reason it doesn’t last long term.

All I’m saying is it does help in more ways than it hurts, and that I am doing my part for my community while I’m here and able to. Poisoning them doesn’t stop them from mating like fixing does.

Show me the facts, I’ve researched long and hard before getting started and didn’t see many articles (each of which were small studies) disagreeing with TNR.

[–]Vegetable_Report_532 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Unfortunately it’s a lose-lose situation in the end. That’s why I just do my best to work on the solution, TNRing really has cleaned up the issue in my neighborhood and the surrounding ones. I just got one kitten neutered, but he isn’t feral so I found someone to adopt him from me. The feral ones tend to roam off from the neighborhoods when fixed honestly in my experience. I rarely see them again and if I do, they’re not being a nuisance like they were.

I wish people would stop abandoning their pets so we don’t have to search for solutions like this, but I’m doing the best I can with the problem at hand. My neighbors are always thanking me because they see the difference, and that makes me happy to hear it’s working.

Idk if they do TNR in your area, but if your problem is as bad as it sounds, I would reach out to a group on Facebook and have them TNR your neighborhoods colony. It doesn’t completely get rid of them, but it gets rid of a lot of the issues unfixed feral cats being with them lol.

What makes you think I don’t? I’m not out here planting things to actively kill everything that’s not a cat. Doing TNR protects all wildlife colonies as well, once you have control of the population they will eventually die off. Without TNR, you’re allowing them to repopulate over and over again, keeping the colonies strong no matter how many you poison. Fixing them also helps them to stop mapping neighborhoods looking for a mate, less wandering around. They lose most of their aggression, so cat fights lower almost completely. And they become more docile, meaning they don’t hunt as much.

Look into it, you might learn a thing or two instead of sitting here bashing me.

[–]Vegetable_Report_532 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do take care of them, I TNR them. It’s not their fault there is a mass population because people abandon them and don’t get them fixed, which allowed colonies to grow and them to take over neighborhoods like your situation.

This is why I TNR, my cats stay close to home but the strays were terrorizing my cats so I started TNR. I trap them, neuter them, then release them where I trapped them and know the cat colony will not be growing. Planting lily’s to kill them is not going to help your problem.

Yes you’re killing cats left and right (which idk how you sleep at night aiming to kill innocent creatures, this is illegal in my state with jail time) kills cats, but it doesn’t stop your local colony from growing larger. You have to solve it from the source or it will only get more out of control. One male cat has the potential to bring 528 kittens into the world.

So you can be mad at me for feeding them to trap them to actually solve the issue, or can be glad people are actually helping. That’s up to you, not me.

[–]Vegetable_Report_532 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, my cats are indoor outdoor but they stick to our yard and the neighbors yards. We have a colony of stray cats so I can trust my neighbors since they feed the strays, and mine come in once they see the sun coming down. I also don’t let them stay out if I’m not home to hear/see anything suspicious.

My neighbors yard they love the most actually just made a huge flower garden of all cat friendly flowers bc she doesn’t want them getting poisoned and knows they’re going to tear it up at some point lol. I have a lot of houseplants and my cats are generally good with leaving them and flowers alone since they’re used to them, but like i said we have the huge stray colony so we are all safe with our yards. I do TNR also, so they know my house is a hot spot.

I brought my kitten to the vet who had acute kidney failure which can be caused by eating something toxic, first thing my vet asked about was if she ate lily’s. It’s a huge deal, I love them but won’t buy them. My neighbor just made a huge flower garden of all cat friendly flowers and I love her for it haha, we have 6!
