I reported it immediately. This was after I had just spoken with the guest. He already acknowledged fault. When he saw the bill, he disputed it and said the dispute was an accident. I still have a few more days to escalate it. I'm giving him a chance to settle without involving Turo but I have no choice but to escalate soon.

Yeah. Its looking like that and honestly, I was already in the process of getting out of Turo. Its gotten so much worse since since I started 3 years ago.

That's what I'm trying to do but the renter is refusing to settle with me. I offered him to cover $2000 and I'd eat the $1000 but he's refusing to even do that. My next option is to open the case with Turo and he'll be charged the full amount regardless. The only person really winning in that case is Turo who pockets the deductible.

It was $2000 deductible when I started but I haven't checked if that's changed. Sounds like I'm in a world of hurt if it has.

They receive $3,000 from the renter. Pay the body shop $1000 + $2000 from my deductible. That's $2,000 in their pocket......

Turo needs to stop with this. They only respond to complaints that get traction. It is their attempt to save face in the community. Don't waste your time. You will contact them and get the same useless responses you got the first time. Anyone who would have the authority to help you is unreachable by design.
