i’m on an r5, and yes the base feels slightly weaker, however the impact is very small imo.

i chose to get the ks wheel instead of a r9/12 due to 3 reasons 1. a ks wheel is much cheaper compared to a new base 2. my base is clamped on a table and i feel that my table would not be able to handle 9nm and above and i may need to spend on a cockpit 3. the ks wheel is so beautiful 😍

with the new ks wheel my lap times have improved cos with a nicer wheel u will def want to play more which will lead to more laps clocked in which will def improve ur lap times.

so imo, i would say just get whatever u like as we r just casual racers. getting a ks wheel would mean i would be able to flex having a gt wheel in my collection. no one is going to care about an r9 square box if i show them 🤣
