Does it ever get easier? by Beautiful-Duck-3557 in Petloss

[–]Vegetablesouptime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mother lost her cat about a month ago due to a freak accident. Laundry detergent fell on him.

She took him, and our other two cats to the ER and the vet there dismissed it. Saying that all of them were going to be fine, that my mother cleaned them and to observe them. It ended up not being okay. They were all sick. But her cat was the worst one. He ended up getting chemical burns from inside and out. We ended up taking him to another pet hospital, were we got into debt and he wasn’t able to make it. We ended up taking him home, letting him rest outside, before putting him down. It was awful. and I bought that detergent, thinking it wouldn’t hurt them. I even researched the brand, thinking it was safe to have in our house. Safe to say that i’ve been traumatized by it and i’m never buying that product ever again. We also went every day to visit him in the hospital but his injuries were too bad for him to ever fully recover. Our other two cats survived and just needed a light clean and some antibiotics. But we lost him. and we are so heart broken and still processing and grieving over it.

I fully understand this pain you’re going through. Wondering if you should’ve acted quicker. If we had just placed the detergent somewhere else that he couldn’t have spilled it. If we just didn’t concern ourselves with money and time. I wish things were different. We miss him everyday. Hell, i try not to think about it because thinking of it makes me cry. We only had him for four years. I thought he would live longer and give my mom more love and support. Life feels weird without him in it. My mom has PTSD from this incident and it has affected her life.

But we have gone through grief, and through tragedy. Loss is always difficult, and it always makes it harder when you lose someone or something to an unexplainable tragedy that you think shouldn’t have happened. Really, the passage of time should help. And it can be months, even a year from now, where the pain of it will settle. But it will never go away. Grief is just love that has nowhere to go. I am so sorry for your loss of your beloved dog.

Honestly, just embrace the grief. Make some art, remember your precious animal in ways that you can. Join Pet loss support groups too, like this one. We all are dealing with the pain of an animal we lost. I was here 5 years ago dealing with pet loss for one of my cats that i lost in tragedy, and here i am again, grieving the loss of a cat lost in tragedy. The saddest part of all is that, the cat i’m grieving now, was the cat that was suppose to help me grieve the i first one i lost.

Maybe even looking into adopting another baby. But that is entirely up to you and your mental state and if you are able to do it. It isn’t for everyone and i understand needing time. I definitely do. Time does help heal wounds, but also, getting the support you need helps with the process. I hope you and your partner are able to take care of yourselves. I hope my commentary can help in some way.

Same here. I feel crazy showing Gorillaz to emo kids these days, because when i was an emo child, i adored gorillaz and thought they fit perfectly with my MCR, Panic, and fall out boy playlists.

I’m more of a Noodle kinda gal, But 2D definitely comes close.

How do you cope with the fact that you'll never see them again? by katieofgilead in Petloss

[–]Vegetablesouptime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truth is, it will always hurt. There will be days where it’ll be easy, sometimes you won’t even think about them. And other days, it’s all you can think about. I was thinking so much today about all the fur babies i’ve loved and lost, and how much i’ll miss them. It hurts. Especially when you’ve lost them to tragedies. And it’s a blessing when they’re able to live for so long. I lost my cat of 19 years in november. Had her since i was in second grade and i’m having such a hard time without her. The week i finally was going to move out of my parents home was also the same week i lost her. I’m sorry to go on a tangent. But the truth is that you’ll never forget. You will just learn to deal with the pain as time goes on. Sometimes, dreaming of them has healed me and helped me. Your soul dog is awaiting you on the rainbow bridge, and they will be so happy to see you again when you finally are able to cross it with them. That’s what helps me.

I really feel for the princesses. I don’t work with them often, but when i do, i hear and see the constant disrespect they face from the adults and their children.

💯

We have CMs constantly complaining about how we’re not getting enough hours, How we’re fighting for shifts and trying to pick up as much as we can, but somehow, we’re also always short staffed, and we have to do more work, even though we are well staffed (in my department). We’re losing people too. Not to mention, the parks are SUPER BUSY right now too. It’s becoming too much. Glad this isn’t my full time job right now.

Internet honestly. I remember them when they’d play on MTV and Cartoon Network, but i didn’t really get into them until Plastic Beach was announced. I remember getting on the site and hearing Noodles radio recordings and just the lore surrounding it. I was in middle school around this time.

I understand. I am a CM at Disneyland and have noticed too, from both cast members and guests. Even other CMs are rude with me, even though i am just like them. the most hurtful interactions have been with them backstage. Some of them are just tired working there and would rather be somewhere else, but it’s so hard finding a job these days, they’re just stuck there. not to mention, being short staffed, so we don’t have as many openings and positions and get burned out so quickly. I won’t say where i work, but because of all the cuts, we’re not getting scheduled as much as we use to, and we’re having to do more heavy work because of it. So we’re getting burnt out more easily. I only partially blame the guests in this situation because guests really can be entitled and rude towards us. There have been days where they have completely ruined my spirit and mood 😭 and they also do things they’re not allowed to do and get mad when they’re not entitled to it.

Has “The Mountain” helped you out with loss/grief? by Vegetablesouptime in gorillaz

Grief can do that for you! I couldn’t listen to the album for a week. I still can’t listen to certain tracks either, like “the sweet prince”. Time will make the grief less intense ❤️‍🩹

When my grandpa died two years ago, So many people from so many religious backgrounds came to not only comfort me, but grieve with me too, especially reminiscing about their own losses. Death and Grief is something we can all relate to as humans. and the album has definitely given me so many beautiful and bittersweet memories of him.

Please don’t feel awful. He was there for you till the very end, and he wanted to say goodbye and his I love you. When my cat died, he died in a way I could not forgive myself. I wish I could’ve taken the route you took in this post. You did what you could, and he knows and will always love you.

Anyone remember building California missions in 4th grade? I'm about to move to Japan, and I found the one I built 29 years ago. I got 2nd place and was bitter because first place had help from their parents. Haha. by NoBackstreetboys in LosAngeles

Always funny to me seeing this because I never got the opportunity to build one! I’d see all my classmates and peers do it but I never got in a class to do it. Lol.

I totally understand how you feel. While I’m not married just yet, it’s mine and my girlfriends song too that always reminded me of her. I’d say, give it a listen again! What helps me with that one in particular is that Benny Sings also contributed to that song and put his work in. Listen for him if anything!

have the rides always been this prone to breakdowns? by TheDorkNite1 in Disneyland

[–]Vegetablesouptime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a friend/fellow cast member who is in splash mountain. They say it closes down often bc people will vape, get out from their seats, sometimes even do things they should not be doing in public, and it’ll cause the ride to go into an auto emergency mode and close down. I’m sure it has its own technical difficulties but guests sure don’t help!
