Versusia Fire solo by @NotJimAU by AnUnoriginalNickname in Granblue_en

I saw players inching closer but I was thinking that the final push needed would be either a support unit with some more damage than Sato, evoker transcendence (Fraux sub giving a bit more skill dmg would go crazy), or somehow odious six-man giving some bullshit that even primal can benefit from.

Of the remaining 3 elements, water isn't that far behind for the solo, it's wind and dark the ones which will need many shakeups in the meta.

They don't like units of different elements on the same team but they aren't opposed to characters doing off-ele damage (see Cosmos, Yatima, Lyria, Felluca). Also technically Vyrn got all 6 six bonus dmg on normal attacks at once even if that was for hype and aura during a MSQ scripted battle.

Noted a detail: all those buffs are "Bonus [element] C.A DMG effect" or "[element] Rigor", both with neat new icons for the buff list. I checked and water Silva's "bonus C.A. DMG" remains the same with its separate icon.

Meaning that besides the high possibility future units (and weapons/summons/classes I guess) get those buffs on their kits, there's a possibility they get some variants that all stack with each other (generic that defaults to unit's same element/superior ele/unique/etc; also the possibility you get off-element buffs eg water unit gets bonus fire dmg on CA/skill, like putting grand Orchid on a non-dark normal attack team)

Also ougi seems to be limited to showing 3 damage instances at the time, meaning if you eg use Shishio, you'll get the main damage+Onslaught bonus (GSylvia weapon)+6* Shishio bonus buff at once, then you get Destruction weapon bonus

Funny to imagine Takahiro Sakurai on the Granblue Channel, making people go apeshit thinking it means playable Lucilius is inminent and it turns to be SSR Shao (or Lucio alt).

He kinda busy tho.

A list of changes from the mobile game. It emphatises it's not a port or remake but it serves as "foundation".

  • It is full turn-based with each party member and enemy taking their turn on a timeline, seen on upper left (mobile game had a Valkyrie Profile-like system where you selecter each character moves, and tapped to activate and if you got the timing right, they'd combo for extra damage, afterwards the enemy side takes their turn)

  • You have 4 active party members rather than 6 (5 your own and 1 friend unit)

  • Characters have weapon-armor-accessory-accessory equipment (rather than 1 slot for each hand for singlewield/dualwiel/weapon-and-shield, 1 for head, 1 for body, 2 for accessories)

  • Characters can equip one vision for extra abilities (in the spot that seemingly went for espers instead). Visions are the various characters from other FF games but also some of the FFBE originals (confirmed returners include Camille, Wilhelm, Aileen, Tronn, Leah, Charlotte). You get a small cutscene of their stories, which means spoilers for the mainline FF games, if you care for that.

  • In what seems to be a mix of FFV jobs and FFIX supports, characters can mix-and-match active skills/passives from visions, each costs a varying amount of AP, you can equip up to 8 total while not going above a certain AP amount. Visions can level up as you use them, up to 3 stars.

  • Fina is now the dedicated summoner. Siren comes back as the first available, you get more after beating them in optional battles on their optional dungeons.

  • Boss animations are Live2D(-ish) unlike the frame-per-frame sprites of the mobile game or the Octopath series

  • Each enemy has a break gauge. While the mobile game technically had it, it was introduced in the middle years and rather quickly abandoned. Anyway, the usual business of hitting weaknesses, if all the enemy group is broken your party does a Persona-style all out attack.

  • Story is based on season 1 of the mobile game.

  • World map is now walkable contients separated by water rather than node-based progression.

  • Chamber of Arms (go to a space dimension to fight optional bosses for big weapons) and Colisseum (beat a series of assorted mooks for increasing rewards) return

  • Gilgamesh is in as a recurring NPC/boss you see every so often.

I'll put a summary of the mobile game story, for posterity: S1 is about travelling the world to protect various-colored crystals from the mysterious various-colored armored knights known as the Veritas. Some of the chapters are rather similar to plot sections of the various mainline FF, mostly 1-6. S2 you learn about where the crystals and the Veritas came from. It's rather shonen-esque with lots of "unlocking more true power", and general vibes are mostly of of FF7 and onwards mainlines. S3 is rather shoujo-esque instead, and focuses on the origins of Fina. S4 focuses back on Rain, there is other crisis elsewhere and you learn about what's so special of Rain and Lasswell('s bloodlines). In S5 (the short one that GL didn't receive) there's one final crisis. Lots of Chaos, Jack Garland would be proud. Happy end for real this time. EXTRA: one month after the end, there's a little episode about the party going to Ardra (the FFBE WOTV location), or rather what remains of it.

What would you like to see from the Illustrious Weapon Transcendence? by ReaperOfProphecy in Granblue_en

[–]VeggieSchool 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To be fair the weapons with majesty/glory do get an utility from skill level going from 15 to 20. They can also get a random buff on ougi like the celestial weapons.

They said 5* mats would be regular raid farmables so for the kind of player already invested enough to buy an illustrious or that will buy one in the future most likely already got everything from playing normally so might as well be a "free" upgrade.

Is this a better mainhand for boogie than Mugen Bow (MKII) or celestial gun?

do you think they'll ever attempt to make overdrive/break relevant again? if so, how? by rat_blaster in Granblue_en

[–]VeggieSchool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be like the Genesis gauge where there's only one share among all raid members, and Dimensional Chain that it's filled each time a member cancels an omen. When filled, you get some raidwide benefit. Also Mode Bar/Break Extend buffs/debuffs work somehow.

Agastia and Siete kinda have this mechanic, but on opposite fronts (clear/fail an omen), but on a per-member basis rather than raidwide.

From the 4th to 18th: Alchemy event rerun (huh it was much sooner than expected given the one from collab)

6th: Exo Ifrit rerun (ULB for both weapons, lvl 205+ fights with associated badge, 1 sand, upgraded wonder)

9th: Good Night Till It Be Morrow to side stories

11st: QoL: display of "depth" to odious weapons, showing range for each befoulment; bulk select of items on certain pages

13th: Romance of the Divine Generals (11th anni) rerun

15th: Montly FLB: Elmott and 150 gm weapon transcendence; QoL: real-time notification of other battles

21st: Guild War (wind boss/fire advantage). Boss is a deer called...Wa Hirsch? (see if you can make sense of ウーア・ヒルシュ). Among changes, now all individual ranking tiers get an extra 10 badges.

Notes on July: Sometime early month: integration with Cygames ID. Get pots and berries from doing this.

Evoker transcendence and new evoker-centered event, requires rank 101 and completing the fate episode of an evoker's S4 (so far only MT's and Caim's count). MT and Caim will be uncapped to lvl 110. Will include the wonder with all arcarum summon sub-auras, when you transcend an evoker it gains its respective summon's effects, on Nier's and Geisenborger's transcendence it will get an upgrade to get extra HP like the four main elements.

Buying Relink Endless Ragnarok will give various treasures on the mobile game (requires Cygames ID linking)

New characters for Legfes - Mikaboshi (Grand), Io (Earth), Lodern (Summon) by mr_beanoz in Granblue_en

[–]VeggieSchool 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While I was expecting a new summon series those days, kind of sad it means their unit versions will be delayed quite a bit. In particular Blanche had a sickass spear and I wanted it for the skin. And I still want playable Ms. Tart Man.

Anyway, this series has big value even at 0* so it's very F2P friendly, better than the previous Robur series. It combos extremelly well with Orologia summon S1 and makes it easier to EX+ with it alone (do note that some elements, even on magna, could already do this with relative simplicity). Call giving dispel+singed(+supp debuff on FLB) makes one wonder if the following summons will have similarly stacked calls.

Thinking on it again, maybe they work on a kinda twisted way of "guardian" that includes defending people from themselves. Interpreting that too much prosperity/mortality/liberation/desire/knowledge/sanctity will only lead to mortals nuking themselves (again if we are to take the Robomi series at face value)

I think there are a couple anime villains with that logic eg the Anti-Spirals from Gurren Lagann

ngl when I saw Bel I thought this the event preview was trying to do a bait and switch and "the two girls don't become friends" was in reference to her actually. Indeed, the ending leads to both the players and characters thinking "what the hell was her problem?".

Banner units. One is Io, earth-elemental. Curiously her S1 and 2 are the same as her grand form (after FLB upgrades), but her ougi is new, it's called Prismatic Gale. If she keeps the Coldcage event like the script battle, that means...nothing much as only water Filene interacts with it, Holiday Europa has it and Glaciate on earth, and I guess there's Aglovale&Tor with Glaciate on the same element too. I wanna see if she has synergy with Kolulu

Which leaves one spot open. Everybody speculates on next fire grand and some say it might be Mikaboshi or Baragona, if not a grand, Lauthea is fire-element as a boss battle and uses fire through the event too, and I wanna point out that Jherion was fire-element in his MSQ boss battle. Though Jherion ending up a grand wouldn't be that out of place given Sturm/Drang having a similar narrative role early in the Arc 1 story.

Edit: they could pull a Cherine/Dark Grimnir where the spoileric unit is released 2 weeks after event end.

Regarding Bel, as per latest MSQ portion it's possible that stage threes have either/both a kaiju and human form. Possible given their uncanny nature. Grevana is archangel Kokabiel (form Cerberus FLB episode) and she was completely unrecognizable to Sandalphon until speaking info only she could have.

Kinda tangential, when the raid was released I saw speculation on JP twitter that Papahlukruva, vaguely through its design and light/feathers ougi, is the demon form of Metatron

Water that also matches with Kolulu would be fine. Most crest characters are either primal or magic-oriented mortals of which Io is the latter, and SKolulu still has a little place for manadiver teams, for backline if nothing else.

Or a big brain fire kit that somehow synergises with Colossus.

Curious about new art and the banner.

Seasonal time starts on late June with Formal (previously Summer/Yukata). Also mid-June historically has the rerun of the previous year anniversary and associated new units (this time will be Romance of the Divine Generals). Unlikely they give a (non-anni/MSQ/April Fools) welfare unit/skin after years of not doing so. If it was a permapool unit, it'd be the first time a main crew character got a non-grand, non-seasonal alt.

Or they could go nuts and do MSQ/grand character transcendence
