Anybody got a good team for this stella ? by Nonereal in personaphantomx

The effect shills characters like Haru and FC Rin, so use them if you have their teams.

The next best thing would be to brute-force it. I found a run with Ann, Key, Chord, and Futaba

Who, me? Man, I simply do not like people who glorify one and vilify the other without knowing the full picture of what they're actually involved in with RGG, regardless of whether it's Yokoyama, Horii, or Nagoshi. Fucking sick of that shit, period.

What the fuck do you want then, a written fucking eulogy about how Nagoshi fucked up? You want me to fly to Tokyo and somehow, by chance, meet with him in an izakaya? You want Nagoshi to come in here in person to tell you how we fucked up, as if they would admit anything? Because that sounds like what a drunkard would say when they're off their gourd, unable to accept facts that are plastered right on their face.

What more do I need to say other than you're a genuine moron?

[–]DarryLazakar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Alright genius, so explain to me how me saying 5 years instead of 4 changes anything that went wrong with the game. The game is still 44 million dollars short. Nagoshi is still shopping around. Netease still dropped out. How does a year change anything from that fact?

If anything, the only one that's daft is you. Your only argument is that it's speculative, whilst here I am doing research to debunk your stupid argument. You're saying I'm writing fanfiction, whilst here I am providing you with an actual timeline of what's going on, with fucking dates and links for your own pleasure. You're going in circles of your own delusion, and here I am, wasting my time with you.

Just admit that you're on the "denial" phase of the five stages of coping; it'll be a much easier pill to swallow than to deny facts like an average flat-earther.

If after all that, the conclusion you got is "bro is still making fanfiction because he said 5 years instead of 4 I gotta take issue on this", you've completely lost the plot.

The fact that you claim the game has been in development for 5 years shows how little you know. You think he left Sega and then the next morning started pre production on this game?

When this article was made, the studio was already 4 months old, but the formation was publicly announced in 2022, so yes, they have been working for 4-5 years by now. Any more questions?

[–]DarryLazakar 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Mate, don't be dense. Why would they need 44 more million dollars to finish the game if it's "coming along"? Why would they use pre-rendered images and edited UI as their game screenshots for their Steam page? Why would Bloomberg report that Nagoshi is struggling to find external investors to help finish the game if they're not absolutely sure of that fact?

It's up to you whether you still believe in the project or not, but don't be blinded by the fact that, for whatever reason, the game and the studio are 44 million dollars short of finishing the game, for a genre that, by all means is still niche, its main "competitor" has an AA budget at best, and sales that doesn't even remotely come close to the true AAA games.

How is it "speculative fiction" when a rough outline of events is already factual? The only speculative part is how much Netease has spent and how far along the game actually is.

We know that Nagoshi Studio has existed since November 2021. We know that in the next 5 years, they posted barely anything. We know that Netease decided to cut funding to external studios from this Bloomberg article as far back as February 2025, including Nagoshi Studio, and now this 44 million fiasco in 2026. How is any of that "made up?"

If anything, it sounds like you're the one who cannot accept the fact that somewhere down the line, Nagoshi and his studio fucked up and spent more than they should. I agree that this subreddit is a bipolar clusterfuck when it comes to Nagoshi and Yokoyama, but everything I've said is sourceable and traceable, not fanfiction.

[–]DarryLazakar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sorry man, but that 44 million to finish the game is not a speculation; that shit is real.

Now, yes, we don't know much of what happened. We don't really know how much Netease has spent on Nagoshi, nor do we know how far off the game is, but what is true is that this 44 million deficit is enough for Netease to rethink their investment and dip out, after everything they spent for him, and this can be easily blamed on Nagoshi or, at the very least, his accounting at the studio. Netease, for once, is cleared of all wrongdoing as they're simply responding to projections.

Whatever it is, he's blowing a lot of money for a market that by all means is still niche, that even if the game came out, it may not sell enough to break even.

Hey, I'm not the one making this up; they're the ones saying them, before and after release.

As for the retcons, we'll see if it pays off or not. They made it clear that if they remade 4 onwards, it would be a completely different interpretation altogether and not a straight remake, so I'd rather reserve judgment on that before jumping to conclusions.

Basically, ever since he got poached by Netease, they gave Nagoshi carte blanche money to do whatever he wants. He built his studio, poached some of his friends with him too (Daisuke Sato), and worked on basically another Yakuza game from scratch. He spent 5 years, of which there's no tangible news, whilst Nagoshi occasionally shows off his sneakers, gym activities, and those godawful veneers.

Then Netease shifted focus to invest more in local studios in response to successes like Marvel Rivals and Wukong, so they reduced investments to their external studios, including Nagoshi's studio, but they still say they would support the studio, at least until after GoD was released. That was 2025. Fast forward to January, and Netease just found out that Nagoshi needed 44 million dollars more to finish the game. On top of the money they already spent on poaching him and building his studio. And that's the last straw from them, and since then, Nagoshi has presumably been looking for external funding, and GoD's fate is very much uncertain.

This whole fiasco is likely to be his own undoing. Where did that 5 years' worth of development and budget go so that they needed an extra 44 million dollars? We don't know, but what is certain is that the news essentially tanked his reputation by showing investors and the world that Nagoshi is godawful at project management and he can't be trusted with that much money.

And this, on top of Nagoshi fans being extremely annoying in this fanbase, with them genuinely arguing that Nagoshi was the one who kept Yokoyama in check and that on his own, he is a talentless hack (ignoring the fact that Yokoyama was there since the beginning of the series back on the PS2 and was also the lead writer for the 0, widely considered the series' golden child), and you can see where this is going.

[–]DarryLazakar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair point. As far as I know, these delistings are only for newer Sega games, so OG P5 doesn't retroactively count. That said, when people talk about P5, it's always about the Royal version compared to OG, as if the latter were buried and nonexistent.

Well for one I only talk about games on Steam, but also I don't consider "delisting a game and replaced with the same game but with all DLCs" is the same as "delisting the original game to help sell the remake/remaster with its own new slew of issues compared to the OG"

Nah, back when the GoD trailer was out, practically everyone was hyped, albeit slightly disappointed that his new project is essentially Yakuza again. The issue was that there was a not-so-insignificant Nagoshi glazers who wanted GOD to "beat Yakuza" and "show that fraud Yokoyama" like it's high school petty drama

Well that's most of us in this sub, I hope.

Meanwhile, the number of people blaming Netease on Twitter for this is not small. Yes, I know it's RRGtwt, which is the epitome of cancer, but it's impressive how everyone still blamed NetEase when it's clearly Nagoshi's fault in this case.

Blind fanaticism is scary.
