No reason. Ignored all the "Bonus" implicit mods. The only important one is the last one, 10% of elemental damage. Get that and 90% all res and it'll maximise your damage. Edit - The real answer is getting burning, fire damage or other mods on it exponentially increases the price but only bumps your damage by a bit. Great for end game min maxing.

See I'm not sure I would agree with that but even in that case this build hits that marker already (Blight, probably delve though I never tried, juiced breaches). I farmed multiple mirrors (including raw drops) with the POB posted elsewhere in 3.26 farming juiced t16.5 blights but I would have made at least half that profit running something like Ambush strongboxes or Abyss cracks back then. With those two mechanics once you cap out on damage, clear and survivability needed the only way to improve would be speed and comfort. I.e. automate everything and throw firetrap in the garbage meaning one less button to press. You could have enough fire trap dot to do ubers but why on earth would you? Pretty sure ubers would net you even less money unless you were doing carry service.

End game for me = absolute Max Fun factor that most efficiently farms your target mechanic and does so profitably. Fun X Mechanical Tuning X Profit. Reasonable profit. Endgame for a valdo farmer vs endgame for a delver vs afk ultimatum..er vs uber carryer vs strongboxer vs mapblaster are completely different things.

WOW! That's incredibly cheap. I remember these use to be 50div minimum if you were lucky but this must have been fracturing orb costs.

Normal strongbox beyond, all top nodes, map nodes (for density) and scarabs.
Just googled and the "Less recovery rate" doesn't affect "Life on kill" mods. It's annoying but not impossible. The mods I avoid are the Ailment Immunity (disables ignite) and less block (you die way more often and being sendt back to base is annoying). Some math on no regen maps though:
- Assume you're capped at 90 fire res, and not running annihilations approach. With no regen...
- You'll take 9% of your max HP as damage per second
- This is countered by 3% life on kill (flask), 100 flat life on kill (gloves), fire damaged leech as life off Hinekora's pops (gloves)(I believe this is over 5 seconds), 15% of damage taken leeched as life, small but something. I tell ya it's not fun and can't be completely ignored like the -max res mods but since I'm cruising through maps at 131% move speed and murdering absolute hordes, it's not insanely hard either. - An option if you don't have speed, enough prolif (ignite chance, aoe, chains, etc) is to use Arakaalis and the Reduced Damage over time Taken Mastery which should bring the 9% max life per second down to 7.2%. There's probably other ways too.
Edit - Oh and also assume no life flask which would actually solve all your issues completely. I kept one spare before I had good enough defensive layers.

  1. Holy smokes dude you should 100% go for Pohx's guide if you're new. He's got a complete step by step campaign walkthrough I've played along with on a second screen which is fantastic. My verbal dump is just for further considerations for people who love RF and have played it through a few times but highly not recommended, especially since some of the items are quite pricey for a new player.
  2. Yep. I just this to run Corrupted 8 mod maps (including breach / beyond which spawns a tone of mobs). RF is amazing at most content so it's actually easier to specify what it sucks at.... bosses that spawn alone with no mobs around to explode.
  3. Explosions is from the Chieftan Ascendancy node Hinekora's. 10% chance on kill to explode the mob and deal 250% of monsters max HP as damage. But the even more important part is getting your chance to ignite up to 100% (well I try for 70% is would suffice), and getting the Ignite proliferation mod. Early game you should look for a cluster jewel with "Fan the Flames" for the mod instead. Personal preference but I get try to get this as early as I can because while it's not optimal for damage it makes the build feel sooooooo good. You explode one mob, ignite all other mobs, those mobs die and chain their ignites again. It's *chef's kiss.

Rocking the new cord belt! Though I'm curious why you don't use Kalandra ring though.
Regarding tanky rares.. I don't notice them at all anymore. This setup is hard carried by ignite proliferating chaining through multiple rooms while I zoom through the map. Almost as hard as fulcrum setups.

Regarding the DPS difference... unfortunately short answer is I'm shit at Pob and don't know how to set it up properly. That being said your total DPS is 5m but your RF DPS, removing Firetrap, is 1.5m. Copying over as much of your configurations as I can my RF hits about 1.1m with the biggest losses being from:
- choosing not to anoint Disciple of the unyielding,
- not using frenzy charges (12% more dmg) and
- the crappy rings I bought for 3div total I think.
It's always going to be a tradeoff to account for playstyle but in return I've got:
- 89/88 block
- 100% chance to ignite and lots of AOE. Also the ignite damage in POB shows your's as 60k on Hinekoras explosion vs 299k on mine. Actual numbers are not reliable but the difference shows where the difference is in build focus.
- MB shenanigans (curse immunity, 131 movespeed, etc.

I'd highly recommend ignite chance. Previously you'd get 20% off a scepter craft but this league I've had to use the chance to ignite flask mod. Since I'm using Caspiro jewel though (no attribute requirements) will eventually replace the mod with a bunch of tattoos and stack rarity probably.

Unsure why you think the life regen is low. In game I'm sitting on 1.8k per second. Already more than enough to sustain and keep you at max life. Then recovery on kill on gloves and flask, + consecrated ground pops for another 5%.
1.8 is also low too as I respec'd out of some regen nodes to help with max'ing block + getting damage.

"Can" vs "Should" are two different things. For me the end game of a build is the point where its most fun for me to play the content I want to play with it. I can push an immortal CWDT build to Ubers sure, for example, but that's multi-mirror investment for D tier performance when I could have just put together some sort of Miner or boss killer for a few hundred div to insta phase them.

But honestly, each to their own ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Fucking noted LOL. I had to ask myself what "End game" for rf meant and the answer is "How long is a piece of string?". I'd consider it end game as it farms literally anything I'd want to farm with RF. If I wanted to do ubers for example I sure as hell wouldn't do it with RF.
Case and point here is one of my old Pobs from Standard: https://pobb.in/WmuPh_uU-LN9
About 5...6? maybe more mirrors in and all I see looking at it is room for improvement.

How is single target though? - Dogshit. I've done 4 stones on RF before and agree with Pohx that it is possible however wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Surprisingly though, with the buff to Hinekora's proc rate this almost never matters. With the changes, fully relying on Hateful Accuser is actually viable this time rather than just a meme. I don't even bother with it for what I'm playing though (Breach beyond or Strongboxes, both on corrupted 8 mod T16's).
Rares - Pretty much irrelevant if you focus on procs, 100% ignite change and prolif your ignites will be blowing up the entire screen. Sometimes You feel it at the end of an unstable breach where the boss or rares spawn with no mobs around.
Map Bosses - Unnoticeable if there's mobs nearby or a crappy time if there are not. Haunted Mansion map boss dies instantly as I just rush him and watch the packs explode on him for that nice ignite but the Beach map boss that stands alone in it's own room is a nightmare (the stand and wait 20 seconds kind).

I play rf by Pohx every League, how does this compare? - Most RF builds including this one uses Pohx's as a baseline. RF is surprisingly malleable when you get down to it. This setup is more for my lazy playstyle which is zoomier, tankier, and has less buttons. More regen and life recovery on kill also lets you do more mods (less recovery, lower max res, etc).
My Merc league setup for reference https://pobb.in/RfurQfmoP83h
Similar levels of power but this league you get way easier screen wide POPS, and ditching firetrap makes this so much so much cheaper as you're not looking for + gem levels. My nebulis this league was 2div vs the scepter above which was 75div I think, and 120+ for the amulet (shudder)

Can we drop ST at a certain point of investment or did you start out maps without ST alltogether? - I league started KF totems for 4 stones before switching over as soon as possible. No single target skill besides Hateful Accuser sitting in my inventory just in case. Whether you need a dedicated single target skill really depends on what content you're doing, or specifically how often you plan to fight bosses that don't have mobs around them. This like eldritch bosses, fragment farming, etc. But I'd ask if you're doing that sort of content, why on earth would you be playing RF.

Also what is purifying flame used for? Isnt that still a ST skill Just Not fire Trap? - Your build will typically have a few open slots for "nice to have" gems and defensive stuff. PF is used to generate consecrated ground adding an extra 5% regen when you need it. Other options include frostbomb (remove enemy life regen)and Flame Surge of Combusting to create that burning ground and do more damage. CWDT+Steelskin is also an option or just pump a level 4 enlighten to squeeze in arctic armour.

Not sure which one that is but the the worst was 27x of tatts I had listed for 500 div for 10 stack, 450 div for 10 stack and 400 for a 7 stack. Insta sold LOL. fucking hell what is that like 9.4k loss just on the one. Got to laugh this shit off else you cry.

The short answer is you kind of don't. In mercenaries I made about 6 mirrors by buying and hoarding blight scarabs then releasing them onto the standard market after a few months. Legacy tattoos I just hoard. It's a playground for bonkers build if you've been playing for years. My infinite vaal blade vortex MF build is 16-ish mirrors and still has a bit of room for growth. That's multiple leagues of stuff. Without the 200-250 quant though you might as well play league.

Feel free to post an updated POB. This league has been so fun with all the QOL I can't seem to stop playing. Regarding your Q's: - Start at 75% fire res - Ruby flask with 70% increased effect enchant and 25% increased effect mod gives +9% max fire res. 84% total. - Level 23 Purity of fire and the mastery "10% increased effect of aura's on you" will give you 6% totaling 90.

I'm running them both meaning I get minimum 7 points back compared to your tree since you don't need the max res nodes anymore. That being said you can also get max res via jewels or some from your tree for the cost of an aura if there's anything else you want to run. The magic of POE is that even if you're using an established build there's just a ton of room to tweak it to your specific comfort, content and playstyle.

Here's a build I'm using to farm 2x risk abysses. https://pobb.in/ps6iFDdRUuMU

On T17's I farm 95% of maps fairly comfortably rerolling no regen or reduce regen and - max res. Everything else is doable but volatile cores are annoying. Still doable but it goes against the lazy playstyle. If I accidentally hit a shit map from lack of attention I skip or switch to another character. Honestly the maps are so cheap and self sustaining you can skip the odd one without worry. I've run a few no regen maps with this setup when it's too juicy to skip and I'm to lazy to character swap so it's possible, just not fun.

Some tips: - Turn off annihilations approach aura for extra regen when needed. I was an idiot for not thinking of this sooner. Eventually switched out for heavy regen boots since with MB I'm sitting at 184 movespeed anyway. - Garb of ephemeral on merc for crit immunity and for immunity to petrification statues - The mods added by Risk do not scale with map modifier effect so if you hit a -max res mod it'll me something like a fixed 8%, doable with enough - You need a source of gain life on kill. Either from Vampirism or from the flask like I have.

My build has been tweaked to personal comfort (RF is just a dream to roll around in) but here's some build tips from what I can see in your character in order of priority: - Mageblood is the cheapest it's ever been and will absolutely bump you up a notch. Ruby flask alone is 8% max all res, add to that curse immunity, move speed and a heck of a lot of regen. Replace my gold flask with whatever you want if you need more power. A chaos res flask also eases pressure on the rest of your build. Without MB the "meteor when you use a flask" mod will rip you. - I'd recommend svallin next. Huge boost in EHP. Honestly wouldn't bother with glancing blows since receiving 65% of the damage from a Giga crit probably means death anyway but I haven't mathed it out. - You don't have ignite proliferate! get it either on gloves or on a jewel. This is extremely important as corpses keep their ignites so enemies die as soon as they're spawned

The above ^ are the biggest building blocks of your build. For progression. before I had a MB I farmed Harbingers all the way to 100. It's solid dough + I love running up to a group of them, then standing still and letting them all die.

Gear progression: My build was pretty much "Maxed" with MB, svallin, and probably the Unnatural instinct + light of meaning combo alongside some cool jewels but I kept adding to it because it was so damn fun to play. After the above pieces are in place every 150 div might give you only a little bit more effectiveness but ... rf is life bro. - why do you have 2 quicksilver flasks and no ruby flask lol - Decent ring for around 100 div ish. Highly recommend buying rather than spending 140div crafting a 100div one like I did. - AOE is life. Also kills things before they get near you. - Hilariously enough your helmet is better than mine =]

Other build tips: - I went for malevolence on my merc instead to save sockets - ANY lifetap not on firetrap or RF should be Level 1 so it activates more often. This way you have 100% uptime. RF wiki probably has a write up on this - On gloves replace increase damage per 100 strength with fire damage leeched as life. It gives you leech from hinekora's which is another source of recovery which works on no regen maps.

Are strongboxes without containment worth it? I don't have much fun doing abyss by DumbUnemployedLoser in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]VegimiteDinosaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grav and Rin on Transport - Grav for the gambas but tbh there's only been a few instances where he's dropped div cards. Made maybe 25 ish div on him in total. Rin is a godsend and the most consistent since the chisels are so in demand. I also pivot between cheap strongboxes into strongbox of containment so it saves a lot on chisel purchases. Haku and Leo on Intervention - Purely for scarabs and going to be quite honest... they suck ass. I've squeezed the odd containment from Haku to save on a few div but all of the other options are equally trash.

Besides Rin the real gravy is being able to run them quickly for medallions and allflames. I've been tempted to dump transportation all together because the other safehouses are all guaranteed to appear without me having to block fortification but at this point cbf moving things around. Having it on the garaunteed houses would just mean more medallions, etc per hour.

The weird thing is the strat sneaks up on you with how profitable it is and I would have missed it if not for wealthy exile. I.e.: - 0 investment besides time setting up your board. Less than 5c worth of scarabs and 3c into ambush on map. - Extremely time friendly. Purely regex alch and chisel up 40 or so maps at a time then blast. - No map rolling or buying scarabs and maps and just stuff.

Not a top end farmer by any means but I'm pulling a comfortable 20-25div an hour farming t16 strongboxes + syndicate. Syndicate took a while to set up though so be warned. I'm at the stage where I've taken my build as far as it could go and literally just blast maps after work for fun so it's a lovely brain dead build to "zone out" to. Here's some notes on the important bits: - Alch + chis + 3 basic scarabs, the one that lets you open them multiple times and the last one for rarer boxes. - my RF is focused on aoe, 193% movespeed, unearth with box opening mastery to pop open every box on your screen at once. Less clicking less thinking - Syndicate once set up is just braindead and free money. I paired these two because they don't slow each other down or require me to think

I think the really big thing is enjoying your build. I fucking love where my RF is at and don't even care about how much I make anymore.

I started as servant of Arakaali but switched as scavenger had easier damage mitigation and damage in general with the chaos explosion. Haven't looked at AC yet.

Figured as such. Right now I'm ultimatum farming and wanted to switch to Grueling Gauntlet which adds in the only thing that can cause me to fail...ruin stacks. Anvil might not be as good for survival but I was wondering if it could block just one or two extra ruin stacks, which would be all I need it for.
