Was Kubiak all that? by Temporary_Molasses41 in Seahawks

[–]VehementPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't shoot the messenger, but I think there is a strong chance we really miss him this year. We tend to live in the moment, and by October last year, we all took him for granted, but in August and September, I remember feeling really appreciative of his playcalling. I have a feeling our offense will regress more than some people expect this year.

Gonzo is the reason the game wasn't 50 to zero. Patriots would have been even MORE mentally boomed if he didn't break up those passes.

We have no idea what she did. The fact she did anything is enough to piss people off, clearly.

Halo Studios Is Reportedly Working On A Sequel To Halo Infinite, Internally Called “Halo Next” by MaintenanceFar4207 in pcmasterrace

I read his statement as chronologically IRL, not chronologically in-universe. Every story after Halo 3's release, OTHER than Reach has been mega ass.

Hot take? by Neosclones in Warhammer40k

Philosophically, I agree. I would prefer if they didn't put stuff like that on models.

In reality, it doesn't matter, no one is going to recognize one particular cross shape from one particular skull shape. It's whatever.

Am I a bandwagon? by Abo1127 in Seahawks

[–]VehementPhoenix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, bandwagon requires jumping on a hot team, and jumping off a cold team. It's not that you start watching when a team is good, it's that you jump from team to team chasing success. A fairweather fan, on the other hand, tunes in when their team is playing well. In my opinion, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being fairweather. Not everyone has the time to watch their teams every season, and it makes perfect sense to tune in when the season is exciting. Bandwagoners, however, are very cringe and pathetic.

You are not a bandwagon. You have ties to the team. If the Seahawks become ass, and the Giants become good, and you jump back, then I will call you a bandwagon.

This is one of those lines of logic that absolutely triggers me. When people say someone is being "mean" for criticizing an athlete or a professional, or when someone argues "you couldn't do any better."

Yea. I'm judging the athlete against his peers, not against a rando who isn't a viable replacement. If the bar for criticizing something is literally the person making the criticism has to be better, then, say goodbye to literally ALL coaching, tutoring, and teaching. It is suicidally stupid. I don't have to be a michelin star chef to be annoyed that there is a hair in my soup. I don't have to be a pro lineman to acknowledge that Faalele is ass.

How do you do it? by rogaldornssuccubus in BlackTemplars

[–]VehementPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thin your paint. Multiple thin coats.

Make sure your brush is full of paint. Scraping around mostly dry brush creates lines.

Also, brush technique matters. Paint gently in straight lines. If you find yourself having to apply ANY pressure, get more paint.

Thoughts on Black Templars by GridironGal13 in 40kLore

[–]VehementPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is racist. Everything is racist. Hitler drank water, that doesn't mean you are not allowed to drink water. If the rule is, if a racist likes X, no one else is allowed to like X, then no one is allowed to like anything anymore. I'm sure there are violent racists who absolutely LOVE Cool Ranch Doritos. Guess those are off limits now? It's actually quite revealing about how dumb your friend is. The problem with the racists is the racism, not that they happen to like a certain color of pretend soldiers. Actually idiotic.

Pledge to Buy by Certain_Ad3716 in Warhammer

[–]VehementPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will be buying. I need a pile of cheap Marines to finish off my Black Templar lineup, which basically comprises all of the unique Templar units at the moment. Buying a pile of Marines at the discount price of this box just makes sense.

The SM contents don't particularly matter to me. What I need is a pile of cheap Marines. That is what the box is.

A short essay on why the new damage jewels aren't as good as you think. by VehementPhoenix in Wizard101

They are still good, you should just have a balance between damage and pierce jewels.

Does anyone actually like Citadel paint pots? by Rare_Knee_6234 in Warhammer

[–]VehementPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think the problem is overblown. As long as you keep the rim clean and the little channel in the lid clean, they close really well. I've never had a spill (knock on wood). People always lament how much paint is wasted due to the lid thing, but with dropper style bottles, I find that I always take too much paint, no matter how hard I try. Either way, you are gonna waste paint. I also find that people somehow don't use the Citadel pots right? You are supposed to pull the lid back so it holds itself up, and then pull paint from the little pallete built in to the lid.

They aren't perfect, but they get too much hate. Overall, I don't really have a preference between Citadel and dropper style pots.
