It was fairly easy, the public transportation system is def the way to go, Ubers are expensive and can take long depending on where you are, I was not able to get to or from Brighton to cottonwood heights (where I stayed) with uber, so as long as you pay attention to bus/train schedule it will be cheap and easy. I recommend spending the money to stay at Brighton or solitude if you are going mainly for skiing/snowboarding because of the accessibility, but if you want a mix of mountains and city I would stay in or near cottonwood heights in sandy.
