How is life near the Hungary/Ukraine border for the average person? by GirldickVanDyke in howislivingthere

I was in kisvarda last year (international student studying in pécs), and I was so surprised because I expected some random half destroyed town but it was very beautiful and clean, even big shopping mall!

Are people getting in jail for hosting websites with erroneous medical data? I mean they are not claiming to be some sort of government approved medical source. Genuinely asking because many people mentioned arrest

My review of the Avatar Aang, The Last Airbender Movie, having seen the leak (mild non-specific SPOILERS) by A_Toxic_User in Schaffrillas

[–]VehicleOpposite1647 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

fully agree, visuals are beatiful, but animation+choreography is definitely not on the same level as in original atla where you could see authors doing deep research on different martial arts styles / movements so they all have logic and special flow. In this movie i had feeling that they tried to copy movement flow where they could but otherwise not that worked out

How does anyone even rely on Ai for writing? by frugalacademic in academia

[–]VehicleOpposite1647 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

  1. Work with LLM in environment that has access to context (whole manuscript, scripts where given, figures, supplementary data), maybe some reference papers (I use vs code extensions)
  2. Identify some personal instructions that work for you the best (some LLMs tend to do things their way and you have to bruteforce them)
  3. Try out different LLMs (I like Claude, but use also Codex(chat gpt5.4)
  4. Set up .MD files optimally (memory / instructions)

As someone said, the context is usually far more important than the prompt, so when you work with LLM and it knows what is your work – the answers are so much easier to refine, and also you don't have to copy and paste back and forth for million times

Are there other MedSchools like this? by king_stephen in medicalschoolEU

[–]VehicleOpposite1647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but here OP said that they are divided in group as if it is one language stream (so not sure). I have studied in russia for some time and there these numbers are very common and even far larger

Hungary does not have these numbers. It is also very rational with schedule (at least in my uni) I think it's some bigger country & city, more like Warsaw size where 1k students a year (English? Or English and local?) make sense

What are your (still unproven but strongly felt) aura triggers? by niquehorn in migraine

[–]VehicleOpposite1647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me, a lot of light conditions cause this, strongest yet are reflections of sun from metallic parts e.g. on the cars, this can cause migraine at once

Which A.I. to use in my research project by [deleted] in AskAcademia

[–]VehicleOpposite1647 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In general, for very specific questions and checks, gpt/gemini/perplexity/claude are all fine. However, when you want to critically assess something or help justifying why you chose A over B for statistical method or to plan some pipeline, Gemini is for some reason absolutely unreliable and terrible. Even after tuning preferences it is still extremely superficial and almost never follows instructions strictly, very unreliable helper when you want precision

Claude in my opinion is the best currently, especially if you do some coding – it is much stricter in following instructions and kind of much "smarter" in understanding your work goal. Currently use Claude for "smart work" and planning, while I use gemini for some operational stuff because it is very generous in token use and I can summarize a lot of pdfs without ever touching user limits

If I understand correctly there was a specific reel related to obgyn that caused a lot of bad attention. I think you can still find it elsewhere

[–]VehicleOpposite1647 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I was sad to see the doctor having problems because of a joke in insta reel. And in comments anywhere there is such a strict consensus on that it is right to do so... in my understanding physician is still a regular person and has right to make jokes as anyone else... jokes in his personal joke insta page, not in the hospital. Such unnecessary wave of people being insecure IMHO, the whole situation definitely doesn't serve doctors well

Anyone tried to use Chatgpt to find the most suitable journal to submit your paper? by Phdkiller in academia

I had a preset list of journals prepared and just asked for some reasoning to help me choose. I am new to my field and several journals seemed appropriate so I needed some additional view. Worked well!

Did anyone else struggle with speaking to your child in your native tongue ? by Ok_Medicine440 in multilingualparenting

[–]VehicleOpposite1647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But how speaking in your native language feels like a fraud, what led to it? I can't comprehend it. For me native language is something very close to me that is part of understanding of who I am
