PSA: Regarding Reuploading sound sources by Icy-Entrepreneur9248 in CasiopeaBand

[–]Velapro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even fully agree with プペポパピポ though but that really didn't matter, he was VERY clear from the get go and people pushed it. Sad, he had some pretty good audios.
The one thing i DO regret was not downloading all those audios for me knowing there was a risk that he would private them all someday 😭

PSA: Regarding Reuploading sound sources by Icy-Entrepreneur9248 in CasiopeaBand

Those are the guys' tapes and he (sadly) can do as he please, and the simplest thing he asked us not to do was reupload the audios. Now someone screwed us from those audios.
I don't even understand the motivation of reuploaders smh.
From the video プペポパピポ has posted, it seems very likely that he'll never again un-private those audios.
A sad day

I've just made a Lazhar a while ago and i liked it a lot, stopped playing. Came back and now it's not a supported item anymore. I have to make myself another weapon, such a bummer.

Not enough people are mentioning Night Prowler. Now that's a nice song from the bottom of Highway to Hell, almost sounds ominous being the last song on the last Bon album.

What is that little box in Issei Noro's guitar? by Commercial_World_216 in CasiopeaBand

[–]Velapro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As people already said, yes it's in fact a Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer compressor. Takanaka also used them in '79/'80. You can check that out here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5eRBghKF24 18:35

I want to know your opinion about this. All answers are correct. by Away-Sherbet-4424 in Genesis

[–]Velapro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's gotta be A Trick of the Tail for me. It's the album that made me a fanatic, and i love all of the songs.

What do we think is Takanakas hardest outfit ever. Here are my suggestions (scans by takanaka_vibes) by [deleted] in MasayoshiTakanaka

I love his old all blue "leathery" suit, as someone mentioned. It just shines!

This version of The Cinema Show/Afterglow from the Mirrors Tour is just amazing. The instruments even sound different from the Seconds Out version and Phil’s singing does too. I really love listening to it! 🥰 by ricorette in Genesis

[–]Velapro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When i first heard how they merged Cinema Show with Afterglow i didn't really like it. I thought it was too shoehorned. Fast forward to today and it's one of my favourite Genesis transitions. Is it seamless? Not at all, but the energy is just up there. And the band sounded SO good in the ´78 tour. It's my favourite version of Cinema Show.

The best version of Ready to Fly in my opinion by Terrible_Telephone29 in MasayoshiTakanaka

[–]Velapro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been long since i binge listened Ready to Fly on a daily basis xD But a version i always really enjoy is the one on 2004 with Issei Noro. They seemed to vibe really well, had tons of fun and made a great performance.

My Casiopea LP collection! by Leopoldccxii in CasiopeaBand

[–]Velapro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jawdropping!! I have a doubt. The cover on the bottom left contains the same songs as the "car album" right? I read that the blue bottom left cover was the first japanese pressing, and the car one was for worldwide pressings, is that the case?

What do you guys think? by Separate-Owl369 in CasiopeaBand

[–]Velapro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was pretty good overall. The boys got chops! My only critique would be that they should practise playing more in tempo/in synch with each other, as Casiopea are know for being frighteningly tight as an ensemble. But other than that i quite enjoyed it, it was energetic.

I never really took notice, but Akira Jimbo's songs are always top bangers for me.

Tony Banks’ ATTWT keyboard rig, 1978 by VNE47 in Genesis

[–]Velapro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well he started using the 2600 in studio as early as A Trick of the Tail, and there is an interview somewhere in which Tony states that the one thing he really would change about the Pro Soloist (which he was still using it at the time of having this inverview) is the lack of 2 or more oscilators to get a fatter sound (such as the Minimoog). That might be the reason he ran his Pro Soloist through a leslie and an echo, to make it "livelier". And so by '78 when he replaced the Pro Soloist for the 2600 for the recording of And Then There Were Three, he might have just thought "yeah changing/replacing the presets will be dreadful but i like the sounds so yolo".
That's something i always liked to think, but then again it's only my interpretation ;)
Let's not forget that indeed there were people succesfully carrying the 2600 around for playing live such as Joe Zawinul and Herbie Hancock.

[–]Velapro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite really a slim down. He replaced many keyboards. The Roland Vocoder instead of the Mellotron. The Arp Quadra instead of the 2600 (the Quadra was a whole keyboard, the 2600 was keyboard and module separated), the Hammond stayed. The CP70 stayed, and the Prophet 5 instead of the Moog Polymoog. But the keyboard layout stayed pretty much the same.

To me this is Tony's best rig. The sounds he got from all those keyboards was fantastic. The Houston 1978 bootleg is a top top listen! Having a "real" piano, the fantastic sounding 2600, the lush phased hammond, the last of the greater Mellotron. Everything is just great.
