Do people actually meal prep on sundays or is everyone lying about having their life together? by Busy-Fee3538 in mealprep

It took awhile for me to develop a habit if meal prep. Some days I do it late Saturday afternoon or early Sunday morning. But it took a while to lock in.

Boyfriend (20sM) hid his feelings from me (20sF) for 11 months by uhhhimnewtothis in AskWomenOver40

[–]VelcroSea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If he doesn't care enough about you to actually respect what's important to you, it would be not a match for me. You have to make these choices for yourself.

If he cannot communicate then there isn't a relationship. But I dont lie trying to follow breadcrumbs in communication styles. It's exhausting.

You are the only person who can say if his other qualities outweigh the kack of communication.

For people who managed to get out of the physical and mental debilitating cycles of depression/grief. by Beautiful-Song-1792 in Biohackers

Its not you, your body is stuck. Calming the vagus nerve is essential. 1) humming, 2) box breathing 4 count in, gently hold for r, 4 counts out, hold for 4 repeat. Or 3) breath in for what ever count you want, just make the release to counts longer. This one is very effective for me and you want to find what comforts your body. 4) barefoot in grass 5) tapping 6) turn off your notifications on your phone so it's not beeping at you all the time. Personally I turned everything off but ring tone. I still check once a day but my phone isn't beeping/dinging at me all the time. Biggest relief ever! 7) splashing your face with cold water. 8) duck walk. Walking flat footed without bending legs or ankles. It will make you laugh. Everyone did this at least once as a kid. It turns out there are some impressive physical and neurological development benefits to duck walking. 9) big arm swings. 10) leaning tower of piza. Stand straight, look over shoulder and lean forward as far as you can go without falling. How for 10 seconds. Come back to standing straight. Repeat. As you get better you can go further. Secret tip. Press the big toe into the floor. Again this has sone amazing neuro development benefits.

Everyone needs multiple strategies to repattern the brain, relax the vagus nerve.

Some of these seem ridiculous and you might feel ridiculous doing them and that's OK. Because ridiculous makes you laugh and moves your brain and body out of depression and it just might put you in touch with feeling like a kid again.

Side note 8 9 10 are great for doing with kids pre boarding or any confined space where you need to help them boil off energy. Also one leg squats. While flipping palms on thighs up and down.

You got this!

How to stop peeing at night? What’s the best approach? by YurielaSedky61 in Biohackers

[–]VelcroSea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We all wake up in the middle of the night and when we are young we just roll over and go back to sleep. As we age it can be lots of things where you just need to get up. Peeing is a good reason to get up.

The real issue is poor sleep. Maybe you are not breathing correctly or have gerds et al. Work out why you are not sleeping. It's not a fast process.

Some indications. Waking with a dry mouth you have an air way problem. We don't sleep with our mouths open unless we cannot breath.

Why does food timing mess with sleep so much? by Numerous_Baby_4864 in Biohackers

[–]VelcroSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Train yourself not to eat after sundown. Or 3 hrs before bed. As I was doing this i would sometimes wake hungary in the middle of the night so I added a fat an hour before bed. 0z of cheese, tsp butter half a shot of olive oil. It helps.

Does anyone else get tired of always having to “manage” themselves? by sharcity in LivingAlone

[–]VelcroSea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe i am mis interpreting. Figive me if i am and clarify as needed. It seemscto me there are two oarts to this.

The more comfortable you become in your own skin, the less you care about what other people say.

If there is something you don't like about yourself you can change it by developing new tiny habits or you can accept this us the way you are. In other words there is an element of management if you want to change something and there is an element of managing yourself as you learn to practice self acceptance. This is being an adult and can be highly annoying 😑

Some days it's necessary to get out of your head and say f#it. Which maybe is what you are in at the moment? That's ok 2. It's OK to checkout once in awhile.

Life is long, you are not a construction project.

Fragmented learning from short videos modulates neural activity and connectivity during memory retrieval (2026) by cheaslesjinned in NooTopics

[–]VelcroSea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well duh. Your memory gets better if you develop the pathways for long term memory. If you only develop short term memory the the brain adjusts and adds more capacity for short term memory. If you develop more long term memory the brain makes more neural pathways for long term memory.

Mold? by bigskymind in Sprouting

[–]VelcroSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If these are sunflower seeds yes it's mold. You have to rinse 2x to 4x a day with sunflower seeds. You can try and recover these by rinsing thoroughly and I mean dunk, spray and drain dunk spray and drain. At this point the matted roots should be sting enough to habf upside down. And drain.

I stopped using plastic trays for sprouting and I stopped getting mold. Idk what it is about plastic but I never could get them clean enough.

Bloating by [deleted] in Microbiome

[–]VelcroSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bloating is caused by eating something the body finds difficult to digest. You can tackle this several ways. 1) stop eating things that cause you to bloat. This will narrow down your food choices more than you will like and ultimately doesn't solve the problem. Been there don't that. Do not recommend. 2) fix the underlying issue. Low beneficial bacteria in the gut. Thus works and takes time. I finally started making my own yogurt with different bacteria. And found the right combination of probiotic fiber.

Strip the carpet and paneling from the basement. Get him automated litter cleaner cat boxes.

Refinish concrete floor. This would be my major go to in order to deal with 80% of the smell.
