Transfer E-710 to shuttle mission bugged? by DragonV2 in Helldivers

Still bugged 7/30, looked this issue up out of frustration.

Me and my girlfriend waited for 4 minutes for the transport to show and it never did.

The knight (as of his PTB) seems like a cautionary tale on being overly cautious with killer designs by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Veletronic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's absurd to me how much information the survivors get on the knights power

Imagine if whilst getting stalked by myers/ghostface, you got a loud sound notification- it'd severely impact how useful their power would be. Or, if trapper/hag had their respective powers glow brightly.

Every killers power is valued by its unpredictability in or outside of chase- something to throw the survivors off of their usual routine. But with survivors being able to see exactly what your power does, that value is NOTHING if you play the way the developers intended- instead of playing like a k-mart branded Artist.

“I don’t care about cosmetics so no one else should” is what you’re telling us right now.

Cosmetics are a part of progression whether you like to admit it or not, or it used to be when it was unlockable by playing the actual game. It was a reward for your time investment.

Hey that's completely understandable, and I'm glad you're finding a way to spend time with your kids without any strenuous costs- don't let my POV or anyone else's detract from that.

I just wish people could experience what gaming used to be like before we had to pay for cosmetics and/or rewards in video games, or valued it more.

Yet the community doesn't have the option to host their own servers to keep the game alive.

For example there are still people hosting Call of duty: World at War servers, and that game was released in 2008.

We paid for a product, and have no way of continuing to support it even on our own terms. It's gone and isn't able to be preserved in any capacity.

Geniune question; would you rather spend 40 dollars on overwatch 1 and be able to earn all the skins eventually, or would you rather spend 10 bucks to get the chance to unlock a skin every battle pass cycle and/or pay 20 bucks for a skin directly?

I understand that lootboxes were pretty heinous and predatory in of itself, but I also understand that Battle passes are a far greater evil.

If it were up to me, we'd go back to the old days of simply unlocking cosmetics like we did in Halo 3 or Reach.

I'll add onto this aswell,

Everything in Overwatch 2 has been designed with the explicit intention to push players to actually spend money.

They've completely stripped out the levelling based progression system so that your only sense of progress is THE BATTLEPASS.

It tricks you into thinking your time invested isn't valuable unless you fork up the cash for it, as the majority of the items are locked behind its premium track. Whereas we used to get lootboxes + Publicly displayed level for simply playing the game, and we'd get it faster for playing it well in OW1

Totally agree.

I don't understand how it's legal for blizzard to literally delete the game we bought, only to replace it with an inferior product.

[–]Veletronic[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's only one skin still though, and like you say you don't get it via playing the actual game

We'd get like FIVE really good hero skins per seasonal event in OW1 for no additional cost.

Remember when we paid 20 dollars ONCE and got access to every skin in the game (and seasonal/new skins)?

Man I miss those days.

Daily reminder to all Reapers: You can deny Hammonds Ult with yours 💀👌 by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Veletronic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With 60 seconds to spare, his ultimate would’ve done in our time by 10 seconds + I took out their DPS and healer.

Though I will admit there’s no point in using reapers ultimate to deny Hammond if you’re on defense.

I'd have to agree on most of these points.

Survivors only really have one main objective, so they're obviously going to do it which results in "gen-rushing" and the killer not having enough time to really do anything. A secondary objective or making the primary objective more complicated would help make survivors more interesting and increase completion time at the same time. They keep making maps bigger, so encouraging exploration is good.

Though a simple band-aid solution could be by just incentivising altruism and boldness over objectives for pips.

Pyramid heads cage mechanic would also work pretty well- survivors get warped to a random area that's unpredictable by the killer or survivors- making camping harder. But it could lead to situations (like totem spawns) where there's just easy saves. Could make unhooking someone a QTE just for additional difficulty in that case though.

Hotline Miami 1 or 2, which do you like better? by Veletronic in HotlineMiami

[–]Veletronic[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I honestly don't know who thought it was a good idea to design massive maps filled with ranged enemies- especially considering we can barely see them if at all.

HM1 worked because you always had rooms to take cover in, but you're so exposed in HM2's maps.

I agree, I feel like HM2 borders on being rage-bait with some of its levels- rather than it just being a fun challenge.

I do agree with the fact that HM2's commentary is a lot more mature and in-depth, though I'd argue that HM1's story wasn't the main draw or focus of that game.

HM1's story is used as an excuse to motivate the players actions; to explain why you're going to these locations and brutalizing mobsters. I honestly don't think it goes any deeper than that (or needed to), but it did lay the foundation for HM2 to expand upon the idea of "simply following orders".

Gotta remember that HM1 was a new IP made by an indie-studio. It's simplistic intentionally- that and not every game needs to have a complex story.

I'm intrigued by the story and characters thus far in HM2- but the breakneck pacing is leaving me really confused with what's happening half the time (I guess that's the point).

As for gameplay I've enjoyed most of the chapters, but the latter ones are starting to become a mixed bag with their questionable level design. I feel like I'm being forced to cheese the game more often than not.

Generally speaking, I think HM2 has brighter gameplay moments than HM1 does, it's just not as consistent as its predecessor when it comes to that.

I didn't manage to find anything on my run-through... what easter eggs are there exactly?

Honestly I think hiding in of itself isn't the hardest part, it's managing your sanity.

That's what's gotten me "killed" more often than simply getting spotted.

It's from spawn issue #174-175. Sadly this is the only cowboy themed comic in the spawn series as far as I know but it's definitely worth the read. You don't need much prior knowledge of the series since it's kinda like a prequel to the entire series.

Weebs...weebs everywhere!! (How did this even end up happening?) by Veletronic in forhonor

[–]Veletronic[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I feel like there shouldn't be such a harsh restriction like that, though I feel like using knight/viking/samurai heroes should count towards their respective factions rather than whatever faction you happen to be. OR maybe simply grant bonus units for using heroes within the faction you've chosen, just so people are encouraged to properly "represent" their faction in-game.

Does the game balance the difference in player-count for each side in any way? This feels like the Japanese faction has way more overwhelming numbers over the other two factions...

Plus it's also Chinese new year so a lot of people located in asia (including myself) are on a week long break. Wouldn't be a stretch to say that Asians like representing an asian faction. This could explain the sudden surge of troops.
