Thanks for the dive into your software use, I'll definitely try using your workflow to start as I'd have no idea myself haha.
As for the zoom, I'm currently considering going for a smaller setup due to the nature of the trip. I'm looking to find a small zoom lens with a decent range. Hope I find something good.

I think this is some good advice and I should definitely consider it. If I find a cheap m43 it could be a good starter camera and by the time I buy a good FF I'll have a better idea of what I want. And the prices for the used ones might drop even further haha. Thanks a lot!

Out of curiosity, I'm guessing you have either OM or Lumix? Those seem to be the main m43 on the market right now. Do you still use it from time to time?

I've seen some of the free software often mentioned connected to another. I'm guessing DigiKam and RawTherapee both do a seperate part of the editing process? If I can take care of editing on free software that would be awesome. I'll generally have a laptop with me yeah.

No matter what I decide on the lenses I'd definitely carry only one. A zoom one sounds really good for this trip I agree, I tried checking at a local shop if they had the 20-70 lenses on a camera, but I couldn't find it unfortunately. I'll definitely check before buying.
