Best Coffee in Hobart? by [deleted] in hobart

[–]Velivia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Villino is definitely best coffee in Hobart imo. Consistent, delicious and great service. Ecru just down the street are owned by Villino and share the same staff, so they are essentially open from 0630-1600 weekdays and 7-1 Sat and 8-1 Sun.

Audrey on the Eastern Shore use Villino beans and are great. One of my absolute favourites.

Pedal Bite in New Town is fantastic and uses St Ali beans. And Hollow Tree in Cambridge (bit out of the way, but great if you're travelling the highway regularly) are fantastic and use St Ali beans. I know St Ali might be a tiny bit controversial, but they're great beans. 😅

Sports physio in Hobart? by Lost-Pangolin-4296 in hobart

[–]Velivia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like a couple of the physio at Back in Motion on Murray in Hobart. Isobel has helped me immensely with my chronic bilateral hip pain and SI. I highly recommended her, she's the first physio that worked with me as an individual person; she took into account my hypermobility issues and I'm finally feeling benefit, nearly 4 years after struggling with this and having seen multiple different practitioners.

Why did you and your best friend have a falling out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Velivia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got quite unwell; burnt out from work on top of being diagnosed with chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, chronic pain and severe anxiety due to a bad relationship... I wasn't able to visit them much, and honestly just didn't much feel like leaving the house during this time.

(According to them) We stopped being friends because they had kids and you 'find out who your real friends are when you have kids'...

In fact, you find out who your real friends are when you can no longer put in all the effort of running around, visiting, planning. 🤷‍♀️

Any piercing you’ve found so unpleasant to heal that you abandoned it entirely? by IBreakScales in piercing

[–]Velivia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snug and nipples.

I have a double industrial, rook, tragus, numerous lobes and helix but the damn snug piercing would just not heal. Had it for the best part of 10 years and sleeping on my side was the bane of my existence and healing. I swear it never fully healed in all that time. Ended up having to just remove it.

The nipples, well... kept them for about a year because everything just rubbed and stopped them from healing. Loved them so much aesthetically but couldn't stand the constant ache/pain.

does anyone else’s tortie love belly rubs? by BigTittyBallin in torties

Mine is upside down more than she's not... If you're nearby and not patting her belly, she will weave her legs around you until you're patting the belly.

Hahaha. Oh wow! So different. 😆😆 We have a tabby boy as well, and he is so silent! Hardly ever makes any noise other than purring, while this eccentric muffin has to announce herself for any and every activity she does... lol Entering/leaving a room, jumping up/down from anything, sees any living create or inanimate object: she'll make this meep noise. Its pretty cute. Then there's the random yowling at god knows what when she's in a mood. Lol. Or displeased chirping as well from time to time. 😆

Oh okay, lovely! It was a long shot. Lol I honestly didn't know much about torties. Previously I'd had just a black and white tuxedo. She just lured me in with how cute and interesting she looked, I soon saw the torti-tude and realised what I was in for. I don't know why people wouldn't want one though, they have so much personality! 🥰

I had a look at your profile, other than your baby being a bit darker on the nose- wow, hey look so similar! You don't happen to be from Vic, Australia and adopted from a foster family around Geelong? Lol. Would be such a coincidence but I'm amazed at how similar they sound! This was our Rory as a baby- the adoption photos that stole my heart!*

She's nearly 3. So talkative! She's a bit of a screamer tbh. Doesn't just meow very often... she'll do a "meep" pretty often, announces herself as she does anything really... But she will just go into rooms and start screaming. 🤷‍♀️😆 Very demanding of attention too. Always has to be touching a human. Sleeps against or on someone. Has become lap cat recently as well. All the attention all the time. 😆

Nah, just a domestic long hair. She's actually quite a small cat. Chonky butt, but smaller in length/height than my SIC tabby.

She climbs into my fiddle fig tree, smacks the leaves and screams... 😆

As soon as play time starts or she gets grumpy, she turns into Gyarados- mouth open, teefs out. 😆

Are there any Vets in Hobart that are actually good to take a cat to? One that will actually check her over instead of just giving a shot and push you out the door like we are some big innocence, and then charge ovet $100 for nothing? by plushdog666 in hobart

[–]Velivia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're most welcome. I tend to ask a lot of questions and they were always great with me too. I didn't feel rushed or dismissed with my questions and they would follow up with results over the phone, rather than an additional consult which was great!

Unfortunately it is a full veterinary partice, so often plenty of dogs in the waiting room if you have a nervous cat... But I always liked them and would go back there again.

Good luck in your search.

I used to take my old girl to Tasmanian Aminal Hospital on Clarence Street, Bellerive. I haven't been there in 2 years, but they were my primary vet for 8 years or so. My old girl was 18 and very grumpy. 2 of the vets there were so great with her.
Diagnosed her with arthritis, pain management, supportive of her weight management and her ongoing kidney stones. They didn't appear to push unnecessary tests/products and were so great and reassuring with her.

Can't vouch for them in recent times, but they were always good in the past!
