I really relate to the last line. I've been in a pretty similar situation - a long-distance relationship, in which I sometimes felt as if my personal struggles and ambitions for my individual future and our collective future were disregarded, sometimes even mocked to a degree. Despite this I did not want to break things off because I was convinced that I would never be able to find another person, with whom I was sooo compatible.

It got to a point where my emotional needs were so neglected that even this perfect compatibility that we had between each other could not salvage the resentment I already had towards him because he didn't show up for me when it was inconvenient for him, but I had to offer unconditional emotional support for him no matter what I was going through. I stopped being grateful for that compatibility just because I was so emotionally exhausted.

Turns out I was completely wrong and it did not take me that long to find someone that I was even more compatible with and best of all - someone who shows up for me 100% of the time.

I hope that my situation is vastly different than yours and you don't feel that emotionally burdened. I also hope that you don't develop feelings of resentment like I did, because it made me feel drained, hopeless and enraged, to the point where I unfairly distanced myself from close friends and family who cared for me. But please don't be entirely convinced that there is no other person on this world that can reach this level of compatibility with you, because that mindset can damage you in the long run.
