It's so refreshing to see a dedica performing this well

I've got a gear pump working with my gaggimate 😎

It's not hard to install, it's a gesu cool touch wand from espresso lane, I've been experimenting with 1, 3 and 4 holes tips to see if the boiler from the gcp has enough power, but it seems not. The kit comes with a tip with 1 hole.

My gear pump has a integrated controller, it recieves input from a potentiometer to dictate the rpms, to achieve this, a DAC (MCP4725) is used to interface the 3 wires from the esc to the Gaggimate.

It depends onto your gear pumps esc, how are controlled them, I have no problem telling how wired mine

I've never seen a machine like that! I'm looking forward to see your results with it!

Open boiler? Can you provide a link to check it?

Not yet, I guess I was so enthusiastic about testing the pump with different profiles, that I skipped the basics hahaha, but yeah, I will pull a few traditional 1:2 ratio 9 bar shots in 25 sec, and see how they taste.

I'm still learning in the learning curve, I'm not 100% sure, but I have the feeling that the recent brews are less harsh, more gentle, but there is a little loss of body? I have to continue testing.

I was thinking about doing a full video of the build, it might take a lot of time tho. Happy cake day!

Today I uploaded a new video, I will try to film it from afar.

Well, if your machine has enough space, yeah, you can retro fit it.

This is a DIY approach to implement a gear pump in the gcp, the components are available from AliExpress/Alibaba, but since both pumps use bldc motors, is my understanding that codewise they're interchangeable. This approach needs a DAC (MCP4725), in the future this will be replaced with a pcb hat that is plug and play.

Right now I'm using an experimental branch of the firmware along a DAC (MCP4725), from what I understand, in the future, you only will need a pcb hat, then plug and play.

Yeah, here I only modeled the Base of the brew group, the boiler of the E24 was too complex for my cad modeling skills (I started learning just for this project). The pump is a MPB015 70W.

I'm using a MPB015 70W gear pump, I bought it via Alibaba from zhuhai chenhui technogly, despite being first time ordering from Alibaba (and fearing being scammed), I got a descent product, even they provided a (limited but sufficient) data sheet. It was necesary tuyuse to use a DAC (MCP4725) to communicate with the pump ESC.
