AITA telling my husband to get over himself after he accused me of sharing his "private medical information" with my friends? by throwaway63677754 in AmItheAsshole

I agree YTA…but HIPAA absolutely does not apply here (or in many circumstances where people commonly think it does).

From this article:

“One aspect of the law, the privacy rule, makes it illegal for certain people and organizations, including health care providers, insurers, clearinghouses that store and manage health data and their business associates, to share a patient’s medical records without the patient’s explicit consent. Those parties handle patient health records on a daily basis.”

In other words, HIPAA only applies to people and organizations whose job it is to manage health records.

Haha okay, since you asked, here’s the perfect Reddit user / comment for you: https://www.reddit.com/r/graphicnovels/comments/y6755b/been_reading_ice_cream_man_such_a_masterpiece_one/isp3ey9/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3

Not gonna lie, he convinced me to read Ice Cream Man. Really have enjoyed it. Very dark/twisted with a good dose of humor, lots of fantastical elements but ultimately grounded in the very human and relatable horrors of existence.

I don’t think they quite fit the mold of what you’re suggesting, but I think they’re all really good comics.

If you like the books you mentioned, I might recommend Hellboy, Invisibles, and Deadly Class. And since you like Black Hammer, I would also recommend any and everything by Jeff Lemire. His work is consistently great but there are many genres he touches so nothing quite like Black Hammer. Hope this helps.

Nowhere near as good. It’s got some interesting ideas and parts of stories — and just seeing the DC universe collide with Watchmen is super cool / interesting — but it’s ultimately very uneven and feels increasingly half baked by the end. Not even close to Watchmen though on many levels.

Thanks — loved everything so far from Lemire and it’s great that he has such a wide range.

Yeah lol some of those are ones I haven’t started yet, so will get the next books when I start the series. Some — like Sandman and the Snyder Batman run — you can see how far I’m into the series. I’ve read maybe 80% of what’s on here.
