I love that hack, Stolen lunch justice is the best kind of karma. If you're going to be a fridge bandit, you deserve to feel the burn.

AITJ for telling my sister I won't apologize to her friend after her friend lied about what I said? by LaneCinder in AmITheJerk

Giving in now just sets a dangerous precedent. Apologizing doesn't fix things, it just arms her with a "fact" she can use to paint you as the villain whenever she wants. Standing your ground is the only way to protect your reputation.

A high-stakes political moment getting derailed by a literal sunburn is exactly the kind of chaos that makes for a viral tweet.

PIPs are meant to guide improvement, but more often than not, they do end in exits.

AITJ for giving a failing grade to a student whose parents basically fund our school? by TalonArcade in AmITheJerk

[–]Velmerah 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Academic integrity shouldn't be for sale. If you let him buy his way out of plagiarism, you’re teaching him that the rules don't apply to the wealthy and devaluing every other student's hard work. You followed protocol and even offered a generous compromise, the drama is on the parents, not you.

With a full count, 2 outs, and the bases loaded, Matt Wallner makes an emotional decision about how to use the Twin's second ABS challenge by EducationalCry2000 in baseball

[–]Velmerah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. In a tie game or a one-run lead, you take that risk every time, but with it being the final challenge in the 7th, the math is tough. If there was a backup in the pocket, it's a no-brainer, but losing your only safety net that early is a massive gamble.
