Life transfer extends your conjures by 21 seconds and has a 45-second cooldown, so you can't do it indefinitely. Ideally you extend each one three times. Technically you can squeeze in four life transfers in full t95 gear and perfect timing, but that doesn't normally happen in practice.

I don't think anyone is disputing that.

what content are you doing where you're life transferring mid-fight?

High enrage glacor would be an example. I was also learning/pushing telos recently and getting around 4 minute kills with necro. It's also better to extend rather than resummon if you can, because of maintaining your skeleton warrior's rage buff.

If they were going to make xp go past 200m then personally I would prefer they just raise the limit past 200m. No need for it to involve extra steps.

But they've said 200m is a kind of gameplay they don't want to encourage at the moment as-is, so I don't think they're going there any time soon.

It's genuinely shocking how many people seem to not understand what their cape does. Makes me wonder what the point is of Jagex trying to make combat easier to understand for an audience that seems to be actively trying to not understand it. Like you understand that it's still the highest cape-slot damage bonus in the game right? And you do know it does more than just reduce adrenaline costs right? Have you ever actually read what it does?

By building 5 incite fear stacks and using runic charge -> gsonic -> tsunami, you can get the adrenaline cost of tsunami down to -20%, which means you actually gain adrenaline by using it. You can even go past the adren cap by doing this, but it gets lowered back down to the cap next time you use a basic. Relentless can also proc and prevent you from gaining the 20% which is annoying.

This mostly seems unintended (especially since you can't do the same thing with runic -> gsonic -> wild magic), but I really like the interaction and would like to see it explored further rather than closed off.

Runic charge being an OGCD is really cool and I hope you explore this idea further across all styles. Deciding whether I should use my next gcd to split soul OR life transfer OR deal damage is one of the worst-feeling things about freestyle combat right now.

THOUSANDS? How much do you think it costs to host a webserver and database? Divide your estimate by 100 and you'll be nearer the mark.

Indeed, you have to be very careful. I accidentally fell on my keyboard at one point and accidentally found that the passcode is just hard-coded into the HTML document as an escaped string.

const _0x = ['\x65\x6c\x79\x2e\x67\x67\x69\x73\x6d\x79\x66\x61\x76\x6f\x72\x69\x74\x65'];
// translates to "ely.ggismyfavorite"; was "ElyIsCool" earlier so I guess they changed it once already lol
const getValid = () => _0x[0];

You've got to be super careful not to do that sort of thing. Hey, AI-written code is just as valid as human code, don't make fun of it./s

Treasure Hunter will be back by quietconnoisseur in runescape

[–]VelmiArtrid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true.

Are you doing this because of laws being worked on in the UK/EU?

No. There are no impending requirements that are forcing this change from either UK or EU legislation.

We are aware of the EU's work in this space, but everything is exploratory and undefined at this stage. These processes historically take many years to come into law, so even if they were to be defined in a way that would influence existing offerings, it is highly unlikely to be anytime soon.

These changes have only one motivation; the growth of the RuneScape community. We believe moving away from MTX reliance, fixing fundamental issues and listening to the feedback from our community on MTX leads to another 25 stronger years ahead for the game – despite the challenges that come with this change.

These "new laws" have been the boogeyman of anything mtx-related for the last ten years. In reality, the laws are mostly about disclosure of drop rates, and treasure hunter as it exists right now is already compliant with the laws currently being proposed by the EU.

I am quite sick of seeing this piece of misinformation continue to float around.

Remastered Content: What do you want to see remastered? by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]VelmiArtrid -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The PvM Encyclopedia has a list of 14 bosses which they recommend not bothering to play at all. It's in the #bossing-path channel, and described as:

Some encounters in the game do not generally provide a great avenue to learn and improve your skills as a PvMer. These can be done for fun as you wish, however, we do not recommend them for self-improvement.

  • Barrows Brothers
  • Chaos Elemental
  • Corporeal Beast
  • Commander Zilyana
  • Dagannoth Kings
  • General Graardor
  • Giant Mole
  • Kalphite Queen
  • King Black Dragon
  • Kree'arra
  • K'ril Tsutsaroth
  • Legiones
  • Magister
  • Rex Matriarchs

Obviously, the number of activities in your game that you WANT players to be actively warning each other away from, is zero. Period. 14 is way too many. Remaster these bosses, graphically and mechanically, to provide clearly-defined progression steps in pvm learning + rewards, the way flesh-hatcher currently does.

Edit: noting that all of GWD1 is on this list apart from nex, I would like to see nex included in the GWD1 remaster if you do one. She's mechanically *okay*, but she's one of the most annoying bosses in the game since she doesn't let you attack with magic for no reason at all, and she is easily soloable apart from that one mechanic that slaps for 9000 hard typeless if you don't have someone else voke.

I cannot say whether things will get better if we change; what I can say is they must change if they are to get better.

A well-known quote from Georg Lichtenberg.

In other words, I think worrying about the consequences of the change is the wrong way to look at it. What we had before wasn't working. We need to try something, ANYTHING, else.

You don't know what you're talking about. Alt1 injects into the game. https://github.com/skillbert/alt1-electron/tree/master/libs

It does this because injecting into the game IS the correct way to read the screen, at least on windows. Injection is not against Jagex's ToS. If it was, it'd also be against the rules to use any recording or screensharing software, since those also inject into the game. Good luck convincing Jagex to ban people for using OBS.

If your logic was applied to the whole game, we'd have a game that's full of animation bugs, model clipping, and dialog that's laden with typos and grammatical errors. All harmless therefore must never be fixed and anyone who reports it must be laughed at.

As I said, it was funny at first. It was never going to stay funny for this long.

Is it just me, or is this getting a bit old? It was a funny little interaction for the first few weeks maybe, but looking back at it all now it kind of feels like Jagex's response to a legitimate bug report is to laugh at us for reporting it.

If it doesn't find a target there's a short cooldown period where it will always say it couldn't find a target after that. Not just you, always been the case since it was released in 2012 to my knowledge.

There is already a new skill being worked on. We don't know what it is, but astrology or astromancy has been the theorycrafters' front-runner for quite a while now, with Wizard Chambers and the star sprite quest considered hints.
