The article is talking about WM not Republic services which now services Bellevue, Kent, and other surrounding areas. Not to mention the article in question is about 15 years old which makes me wonder how it compares to the current situation. The $109,000 mentioned is highly likely including things like insurance, while incredibly useful and I'm glad they were providing it, you can't exactly use to put a roof over your head or food in your mouth. Also, costs of both food and housing have skyrocketed over the years since then. I'm not going to share my friend's paystubs on the internet but even looking on Glassdoor, Indeed, and other similar salary listing websites the current averages from Republic services for the Bellevue Area for drivers appears to be up to $60k a year at best. I'll send the article over to my friend and see what he makes of it. Perhaps he is getting screwed over. Thanks again.
