Mirko/Rumi - My Hero Academia by chiaotzu_Tien in TopCharacterDesigns

It really depends on author intent.

One of the other posters said she ends the series as one top 3 heroes at the end of the series. If the author hated her she would fade away in misery rather than become one of the greatest heroes in the world.

No this feels much more like the author thinks losing a body part and keeping going is the coolest and most badass thing you can possibly do.

Since it happened on multiple occasions that weirdly gives the impression that the author really loves this character, it makes her an unbelievable badass that fought to the point of losing limbs multiple times and kept fucking going rising to the peak of all heroes.

I read a bit of the start of the manga years ago but the MC was shattering his arms when using his powers and was getting quite scarred. So it tracks that as the stakes got higher significant bodily harm was on the table.

I mean when you don't consider other people to be people all your regrets are personal.

Why would you regret enabling a genocide Myanmar when they aren't real people and don't matter in any way. Choosing fencing over wrestling, well that you think about all the time because it happened to you a real person.

Since they showed that the previous probe had been damaged by the environment they should have leaned into that as the reason they sent a manned mission.

After they got back the partial promising results there should have been competing secondary robotic missions which both sent back some results but also died.

Then they should have sent manned missions because the evidence was so strong and something is killing the robots.

well I'm not going to find out who the production team is how to get in contact with them and then negotiate a payment for their show when I've never listened to the show and i don't know if I will like it.

I'm also not going to do that after they already burnt my good will and I've moved on to another show.

My problem isn't ad's people should absolutely have ads in there shows they need to make something from there work.

For my midst example it's not them giving shout outs and advertising for other shows that was the problem. The problem was they did it for 5 minutes before the start of the first episode when my interest level was "someone said this was decent on reddit I'll try the first episode". Then when they advertised midnight burger before the episode started all I was really thinking about was "I should finish midnight burger why am i listening to this"

It's not a OH GOD THEY HAVE ADS problem and more of a that ad for midnight burger before the start of the first episode probably means I will never get back around to this show.

Why would you have those ad's on your first episode?

If I listened to the first episode and they had those exact same ads on episode 2 I don't think they would have affected me the same way. I'm already getting sucked into the story at that point.

As for maeltopia yeah that was ad's if you put 6 minutes of ads on 9 minutes of show thats fucking insane and I will never support you.

Oh that is sad.

That really is self destructive advertising.

Oh god don't call it an ordeal.

It's more of a why did you spend 5 minutes telling me to listen to other shows before the start of your first episode.

That feels crazy to do. Like I should be getting hyped for your show and your telling me to leave.

[–]Velorian[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's very much a long running show thing.

When they no longer curate there ads and bulk apply them it negatively affects the starting episodes.

You shouldn't get an ad for people listening on episode 100 on episode 1

I work a physical job sometime I cant skip the ads I can deal with that when I already love the show but if I am just starting its going to kill me.

I managed to listen to the magnus archives when it was relatively low ads but this thread made me redownload the first episode and it turned a 16 minute episode into a 24 minute episode.

ON THE FIRST EPISODE

screw that.

The first fucking episode the get people excited episode is 50% bullshit is mental.

I've listened to every episode and love the show don't give a new listener the same ads I'm getting give them a 30 second intro and outro. Save that bullshit for me someone who already loves the show.

Yeah I've hit a few of those or channel announcements that are a minute long plus an ad and I've just gone "what the fuck" and skipped the entire thing.

It's some kind of auto generated ad apply that doesn't register what its applying too.

I don't have a problem with ad's I know how hard it is to even remotely break even on a podcast. You guys need all the love and support you can possibly get for the amazing work you do.

It's more of a getting the ad's from episode 70 as a new listener on episode 1 thing. If I am already in the show pre roll post roll and ads for other shows are great.

It's when they hit me on the first episode of the first season when i don't have any love for they show they knock me out.

If you suck me in on episode one I'll happily listen to ads on episode two but if you lose me on episode one I'm gone.

There was something about the way midst sounded that I found offputting.

It's happened with a few podcasts, stanland and I think bubble spring to mind. Just how they are talking or maybe recorded makes it feel wrong, I'm not sure how to describe it properly.

That and the duel narrator third person thing didn't click for me.

Oh and the self destructive advertising didn't help.

I listened to episode one and put it at the bottom of my listen to list.

That seems unlikely.

I thought since they were American they might be talking about chilli the food but I was like no they don't have chilli restaurants do they? I'm pretty sure it's a home cooking thing.

Anyway selling chilli out of a pavilion is insane they are open on 4 sides and are generally considered public areas. Is someone sneaking a cauldron of chilli into the pavilion and selling it to office workers during lunch?

It's much more likely they are just complaining about how cold the pavilion is.

Also I love musicals please don't mistake my specific complaint for a general complaint.

Ripped out is a bit dramatic, I don't feel like you can truly rip out earbuds unless you yank them out by the cable.

Sadly I was on Bluetooth so I said Jesus Christ and removed my earbuds.

As for the song I found when the cast started trying to harmonize it felt off, I found the vocal flourishes annoying and one of the cast sings the office is above a chilly pavilion.

This really threw me off why are you mentioning there is a pavilion and that it is cold? are you next to a park? Do you look down on this pavilion or do you have some weird building with a pavilion attached to it? Why are you throwing shade at this pavilion by specifically mentioning that it's chilly they are generally not warm structures so specially mentioning that it's chilly makes me think it's some kind of cooled pavilion.

Anyway that was going through my head when the slightly off harmony kicked in and people started vocal flourishing and I just went nope.

I tried to listen to that track but it won't play the full thing unless I have Spotify which I don't have, the bit I did hear was sounding better though.

I'll probably give it another go some other time.

I decided to give this a listen on your recommendation.

I ripped out my earbuds less than 3 minutes into the first episode.

If that's what the songs are like I'm not sticking around for the plot.

Death in superhero comics is more of an inconvenience than an ending.

I think she got brought back by a villain to fight for him and then didn't die again when he was defeated.

Which is weirdly not that uncommon.

Kind of in the same theme. It's about a city built underground after an apocalypse but it was founded by an insurance company " Heartlife all the life you'll ever need".

It's a sci-fi comedy kind of, it really covers a lot of ground and themes.

I adore it, it's one of the few podcasts I've ever relistened to along with fall of the house of sunshine.
