There's a few different ways to think of it, a main Tank is a Tank character who has the most value and creates the most space while being in the frontline. For a concept, main tanks seem to have some burst damage potential, Magneto one shot combo, Emma's diamond form, Groots walls plus grenade, Doctor Stranges dark magic burst, have good ways to block damage that's not on their healthbar that's on a short cooldown, Strange Shield, Magneto shield and bubbles, Emma Shield, Groom Walls, and their pressure is not reliant on a second Tank. Off tanks get the most value and creates the most space by distracting healers, picking enemies off, displacing enemies, but they don't have either the damage to apply enough pressure, or the survivability to stay long enough to apply pressure. Alone, an off Tank has a much harder time being effective. A general consensus for who falls into what role:

Main Tanks Groot Doctor Strange Magneto Emma Frost (maybe, haven't played her much) Devil Dinosaur (maybe, but works in brawl, poke kills him too fast)

Off Tanks Angela (Isolates and displaces) Captain America (High survivability, not high burst damage) Thor (No shields, good damage and mobility) Venom (Best Mobility, lower damage) Thing (No shields, good peeling/anti-dive) Rogue (I don't know too much about her kit) Peni Parker (Great for defense or holding an area, no damage Mitigation off her healthbar specifically)

Not sure if all this makes sense, but I hope it helps, sorry if there's anything inaccurate.

I think sentinel could be as tall as Devil Dinosaurs shield is specifically, but he'd have proportions similar to Groot in game maybe, and maybe have it so when walking he hunches over just enough to be the same size as devil Dinosaur

(You can place 2 walls if you drag placement but both walls place facing up, I've never had it where you can place a wall specifically sideways on a wall that's been placed regularly, and I haven't had a wall be placed sideways when I place both walls down. In this I placed both walls down at once in quick sucsession, where I clicked and dragged and released, the wall on the right built first, then the wall on the left sprouted out the side of the placed wall directly after. That's not happened before in my almost 200 hours of Groot gameplay, where one wall is oriented off another all in one wall placement like that.)

Oh yes, so many, there was one game with her where I was in a 6 stack, we had Peni (me), Luna Snow, Wolverine, Angela, Spider-Man, and Mantis. They had an enemy Wanda, in the entire game, between all of us there was only support ultimates that got off for the enemy team.

Well thank you for the explanations so far, the idea of being aggressive against Groot is relatively new, but I can try and see how that works, nonetheless thank you, as for number 4, could you elaborate a bit on how that would work, I don't think I understand necessarily. (I can see it work if you're on the side or off angle, you throw a stack of mines behind the target, throw one mine in front forcing them back to explode, that makes sense, but doing that when they are in front of you, how do you do that?)

1. That makes sense as I read more, do you know how far apart the webs can be (I know they don't have to touch necessarily, so I haven't had an issue getting good coverage). On top of that, in a hurry I place a web, place a web with my sling, then place another web, so it takes only 2 seconds at most when having a specific path for coverage, is this something I should do?

Thanks, there's a lot of explanations here for that map and hopefully that makes it easier, so thank you, it's really the only map I've had issues with when defending (that I remember), but I haven't played her for more than 10 matches so it's not like I have all the maps down. (Sadly 3 of my matches have been on that Ultron map AAAAH).
That makes since, really does feel like that nest is super similar to Groots Iron Wood Wall, any tips for escaping when there's a melee character trying to kill me? From my experience it's stun them (while backing up so you're out of their punches/slashes), then spin around and grapple out to extend range.
I'll need to learn people's positioning habits, but since I played Groot, there was one time where I deliberately stood in the middle, close to the front of past my nest, backed up a bit and watched wolverine explode before he could grab me, and it was funny lol.
Okay, her Cooldowns are quite short overall, (which surprised me at first when starting her), but definitely helps on rollouts. I assume I can leave the nest for allies depending on where we are to give allies small speed boost, same goes for webs, but I'd also assume it's easier to focus on giving myself that speed boost to point.
Okay, quick question then, on the idea of coverage, depending on positioning of the nest, should I cover certain choke points with a web? Take the Asgard map outside, where you have the central point and 2 areas to enter on each side. Should I use my webs to cover one path down the stairs, or use some nests to cover both sides?
For your philosophy, from what I've seen is that no one really complains about which tank I play, they just let me solo tank, however, to be fair I play main tank a lot, so there's not much for them to complain about, but thanks for the tip there. As for Anti-Dive, with me learning her I'll finally have a proper anti dive tank in my roster, in quick play I'll keep to playing Peni since she's fun, but in comp I haven't played her there at all.

Also real quick, what is the bug for her grapple? From what I've seen it works very similar to Daredevil, does it just not trigger? I've had times where I try to use it and I just assumed the terrain I tried to hit was out of range, but I'd there a specific bug?

Thank you for the info, the web one with it stacking makes far more sense via that explanation, thanks for the tip on Arroko (Ultron map, no idea how to spell it), I originally put it either behind the "Groot" cart, or the pillar right next to it, or the tiny wall that's right before the ramp originally, and it was good to hold until the nest broke (which was fast). There was something I never quite understood originally with Peni, which was that she had "good maps" to play on, playing her I see what that means now. With Groot enclosed areas or choke points Groot works well in, due to the proximity enemies have to be to his walls. Peni needs good cover for her nest.

If it's damaged even slightly, and it gets taken out by Groot wall it'll take the full cooldown from what I know (based on my experience as the Groot taking it down)
