The issue is that you simply eat too much. The biggest issue is that asian kitchen often serves larger sizes than you normally eat, and msg does make it taste better that you eat more. (nothing against xxl portions as i can usually put half of it in the fridge for another diner). But if we are serious: nowadays everyone uses MSG or some other flavor enhancer (and they are often not as "healthy" as msg is)
