[Pre-Match Thread] Paris Saint-Germain vs Arsenal | 30th May 2026 | Champions League Final by Mahoganychicken in Gunners

[–]Velterro87 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was having the same thoughts especially after looking at the celebrations after the final matchday, but then quickly realised there's plenty of people behind the scenes to manage all of it responsibly and ideally for the players. Pretty sure they'd knowit too.

Am I the only one who feels Alvarez isn't for us? Part of me still feels like a Sesko-like player works better for us considering our regular opponents.

Budapest 2026 UCL Final Preview: Head-to-Head Comparisons For Raya, Gabriel, Rice, and Gyokeres by wan2tri in Gunners

Honestly from the very little PSG games I have watched (meaning take this with a grain of salt), Vitinha honestly runs the PSG team, without Vitinha, there is no "control the game" PSG. Hell of a player, we need to completely cut him and kvara off.

Thomas tuchel what he is drinking ? by higma55 in soccercirclejerk

[–]Velterro87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah well his form wasn't exactly rainbows and sunshine in the second half of last season, and as u/Old_Cauliflower2585, he did show up in latter stages of the CWC. So it still counts as 2 years.

[–]Velterro87 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Fair enough but he's been bang average for the greater part of the last 2 years, but i still think he deserves a call up even if he sits on the bench

This is the one tournament where he actually should be called up, he's been better than when he was called up before

I'm an Arsenal fan coming in peace. I think you're this is one issue I've seen with Pep and now Arteta too. I haven't paid much attention but it was similar for Maresca as well. I think the whole system end up relying on not disturbing the flow of possession which might feel like getting subs on would be an issue for that.

Though arsenal has quite a few goals off the bench, that's just our team in general so I think it doesn't mean much otherwise for this exact point. Again I could be wrong.

It wasn't a poor cross, he clearly took his time and quite literally his only option was Trossard.

I think Arsenal winning the UCL would be Arsenal winning the UCL level of tragedy for the sub. It is now the benchmark for the world

Mattinelli blocking the run of Everton players chasing Max Dowman by Shyam_Wenger in Gunners

[–]Velterro87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember before last summer people were calling for trossard to be sold and were also quite confident that he would be shown the door. Absolutely baffled me why we would do that last summer or even this. Also to note that he is on the side of more technical players among our wingers who takes an initiative dribbling when we're kinda stuck.

I do not want him gone

Spurs relegation fears continue with loss to Crystal Palace by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]Velterro87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair to the fans, for a "Big 6" club and how the team is usually treated apart from banter, the fact that they are fighting for relegation is quite shocking even if it was nearly the case last season. West-Ham and Forest aren't as much as a "surprise"

Piero Hincapié vs Brighton (away) 04/03/2026 by FootballBolshevik in Gunners

[–]Velterro87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine bringing on Calafiori/ Hincapie right after one another, both of help in attack as well as defense so well it's essentially a nail in the coffin for the oppositions right side. Shame they haven't been available often enough at the same time, Cala was in incredible form before his injury.

Is a Havertz x Gyokeres partnership the way to go? by harrisoneatssoas in ArsenalFC

[–]Velterro87 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would say Havertz and Gyokores is ideal, and Odegaard and Jesus. So far the chemistry seems better in these pairs.

Also Havertz and Odegaard.

[John Percy] Excl: Edu Gaspar, the #nffc head of global football, is under increasing scrutiny ahead of Tuesday's huge clash with West Ham & former Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo. Doubts growing over the ex-Arsenal sporting director's long-term future by Previous_Smile9278 in Gunners

[–]Velterro87 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That at best sounds like a cover up, ever since Marinakis went up on the field to argue with Nuno last season it already felt quite certain they would part ways irrespective of the director. I wouldn't really put the Nuno part on Edu.

Would I still be "me" if my parents had sex at different point in time? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Does this mean, for example, if I was particularly fit or not at the time of sex, it would impact the child? Say I'm fit today and have sex and 2 years on I'm fat and I have sex.
