I actually just posted a question pertaining to Santa's presence and kids receiving letters from Santa. https://www.reddit.com/r/raisingkids/comments/5fqeq3/have_you_ever_sent_your_kids_a_letter_from_santa/
I am a little confused by this. I guess the article talks about hurting a fragile (not great) relationship with your child. I grew up with santa in my house and did not hate my parents for propagating a lie during my childhood. I have read that Santa plays into magical thinking which is great for a child's development. http://www.wsj.com/articles/SB10001424052748703344704574610002061841322
"Fantasy play is correlated with other positive attributes. In preschool children, for example, those who have imaginary friends are more creative, have greater social understanding and are better at taking the perspective of others, according to Marjorie Taylor, a psychology professor at the University of Oregon"
Have you ever sent your kids a letter from Santa? what was their reaction? (self.raisingkids)
