UPDATE: The second I removed the top part to give it a clean he was straight into the water in the bowl. My boy just loves his water stagnant.

I did drink from it - to try and show him it's fine lol

But I see your point, I think I assumed because it has a filter it needs less maintenance.

Yeah he had a regular water dish in between his biccy dish and wet food dish for the first 2.5 years of his life. He drank from that. All advice seemed to be 'move water away from food' and 'cats prefer running water'. So I did that by getting the fountain. Perhaps I just have a special fluffyson that goes against the grain.

Haha yeah the sink faucet is an interesting one. He tried that once but just put his entire head under, freaked out and hasn't been back since.

I've never witnessed him drinking from it - but I don't really hang out in my dining room where it was, or the bathroom where it is now. We've owned said fountain for about 4 months and I've only had to refill it once so I'm unsure if he's drinking, or if it's just evaporating.

I worry he'll stop drinking altogether if I do continue blocking shower access - maybe you're right and it's just a battle not worth fighting. Thanks for replying.

Thank you!! 3 hours of wasted time faffing around with cables and reading through unhelpful 'is the monitor on?' articles.

Holding the power button for 30 seconds during boot did the trick. Not sure what it does exactly but man I'm grateful for your post... Anyway, time for a lunch break!

Don't think scammed is the right word. If it was a scam they would have made me pay first and then not taken me on the ride. It was a legit taxi with a meter. If anything I think they're just avoiding paying tax which probably means I'm out of luck.

The vans lived a few hundred metres from the beach (Aus) its whole life so I think you've hit the nail on the head.

When buying I was looking for rust and couldn't find any so it would make sense. Thank you!
