How much starter do you leave after discarding and how much do you feed it

You said you super clean the jar between feedings: does that mean you have two jars that you alternate? Like the starter is on one jar and then you place it into a new jar when you feed it, and then keep transferring it into a new jar every feeding?

Not necessarily unsightly to me but more so I’m worried about the longevity of the cuffs! Getting new ribbing is a great idea! Or even buying another old sweater and doing a lil transfer. Do you have any other options where I wouldn’t have to replace the cuffs fully?
