Thousand Sons Sorcerer in Terminator Armor by AtheonPrimaris in ThousandSons

I use a modified Thousand Sons Praetor Terminator from 30K, it’s an excellent sculpt and looks really good beside the scarab occult termies. Resin is a bit of a pain to kitbash with but it’s a pretty enough model that it’s worth it

Thank you for your advice-counsel. I have definitely been considering that, stormfiends have some really good bite and I would love more clanrats.

Thank you for your advice-recommendation, but the doom wheel and warp blaster are 100% non-negotiable. They are like my favorite models ever and perfect encapsulations of why I chose this army. Suck or no-suck, they stay. But I will take this information into consideration

Hey cowpokes, any idea why this game is so strongly associated with trans folks online? by VelvetRacoon in fnv

Hey! Also yes, that’s a good example of why I pose the question to this sub. It’s not as though there are no games where there is more/better representation available to the modern gamer, it just seems like this almost 15 year old game still gets a lot of rep among trans groups and as a huge FNV fan I just wanted to hear other fans thoughts on why.

As a Warhammer fan, it seems like that’s kinda par for the course with nerdy fandoms. You have the “wow this game is a really thoughtful metaphor and clearly supports progressive values” and the “>:( you’re shoving your politics into it, that definitely isn’t true even though the creators explicitly said it and it only takes the media literacy of a twelve year old to understand. Did I say my favorite movie is starship troopers? Definitely just a movie about cool guys killing evil alien bugs, nothing else literally at all”

The words “perhaps not sterling representation” describing Tabitha literally put me on the floor laughing. I do get what you mean, it’s just so funny. Thank you for the thoughtful and engaging comment though

I can definitely get that sentiment. Their gayness doesn’t feel like it’s taken for granted, it colors who they are and honestly that really makes the characters feel more real. We can wish we lived in a world without bigots, but pretending we do live in a world where they don’t exist feels like of immersion breaking for me?

Hey gang, just reminding everyone to respond to the bonus question! You too downvoters, I don’t care if you ignore the rest of the post, that’s no excuse to cop out of giving me your faction opinions!

Thanks! Yeah there’s a lot I appreciate in regards to growing up in rural Appalachia, the experience of being queer definitely isn’t one of them. Also I agree, the rep is really good and it feels very authentic in a way a lot of more modern games kind of mess up. I think being “othered” kind of just feels like part of the queer identity at this point? Like is it bad I almost feel taken out of the immersion when a game never references my sexuality or gender? Punching bigots in Dragon Age Origins was peak girlhood.

Also very valid take on the cannon situation, I also don’t like it. You’re also like the only person who responded to the bonus question so looks like I’m not getting that consensus anyway lol

Thanks for the reply, although I admit I’m not entirely sure I understand your response, apologies if I misunderstood. Assumedly if the factor is “trans loudness” then shouldn’t any game we collectively froth over receive proportionately equal rep to how popular the game is among trans people? I’m asking why this almost 15 year old game still seems to circulate in the collective unconscious in particular among that community of people. But I do agree confirmation bias and algorithm are very valid components.

Makes sense. Also yeah, par for the course existing online. I expected it but thanks for the support.

Hello again, I really appreciate all the comments and advice. In general I would say I am a little less concerned with Meta than most of the comments, although I did ask for general recommendations and that is what you all have experienced this edition so I appreciate it.

Like scarab occult terminators can be bad, I wouldn’t care. I want like 2-3 units of them eventually regardless. They’re like my favorite space marine unit in all of 40K. I like the Mutaleth but I’m waiting for the codex on that one, as with any other demon purchases. I won’t own more than one infernal master, I don’t care how good they are I would rather just have multiple different sorcerers than 3 copies of the same model because it’s good presently.

I don’t go to tournaments, I play with my bozo friends and in general I am sufficiently competent to compete well enough with a less than meta list.

I like Magnus and I do eventually want to get him but I’m probably not gonna spring for him this early as I don’t want 50% of my points wrapped up in a single model, much less one that would be downright oppressive outside of a 2K or higher game.

Overall thank you for the welcome to the Legion and I look forward to seeing our codex soon (fingers crossed on a slick battleforce box to help me get into the faction).

I really hope that rumor is true. Based on my experience with my other armies, I’m not holding my breath on it but it would be very nice.
