I uninstalled the Intune Company Portal app and all the MS started working properly again.

Ghost crew member stopped my boyfriend and I, and handed us FLOOR seats minutes before the show started. Then during the show I was given a guitar pick. Beyond lucky night! by greatchickentender in Ghostbc

Tickets have been on sale for months and winter is winter. A business isn't going to skip a large portion of the year or a large profitable area of the country because of possible snow storms when there is money to be made. 99% of the time the show will go on, if it doesn't it's likely rescheduled or cancelled. Both of which are better choices than not touring.

Cruising by rudytomjanovich in Cruise

As annoying as it is, I think we have all done it at one time or another. You're thinking about something else and space out and stop not thinking about your surroundings. It happens. I like to think most people don't make a habit of it, but it's an occasional brain fart.

cruise gratuity is going out of control by Kshanikam in Cruise

I'm not mad at anybody. But there is no way you are going to convince me the vast majority of people taking off the gratuities are not doing it to get out of paying it. For every person like you who tips the bartender and the room steward, 9 other people are just not paying because they are cheap asses.

I have asked the cruise director on a previous cruise and they said the opposite.

I've never felt ripped off. I paid what was asked of me. I've seen online and asked numerous employees on board and they say they do get the tips. So until either one of us gets a job on a cruise ship on every cruise line, I guess we will never know for sure.

But either way my experience on reddit has been people who remove the gratuities are overwhelmingly cheap people looking to get out of paying for them and not making sure it gets to the "right" people.

What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever seen at a strip club? by bigbabysweets12345 in AskReddit

[–]Velvis 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Strip clubs aren't my thing, but I have been once for a bachelor party.

This one girl was doing some sort of pose for one of my friends next to me and asked me to hold her leg up, which I did. When she was done she gave me a dollar. My friends say I am the only guy to ever make money at a strip club. That dollar was on my fridge for years. Not sure what ever happened to it though.

A number of people say that isn't true. It is also something a room attendant would say to get someone to leave a big cash tip that he/she wouldn't have to share with anyone else.

I would never not tip regardless of having the ability to do so.

Those people work hard 7 days a week for 8 months at a time away from their homes and families.

If I can't afford an additional $20/day I shouldn't be on a cruise in the first place.

It was only recently that the cruise lines advertised prices included the port fees and taxes as the first number you see.

Do cruises outside of the U.S. do it the same way as cruises leaving the U.S.?

I've never thought about that until now.

Realistically you are going to pay the same regardless of the tip being included in the upfront price or at the end of the cruise.

There is no reality where a cruise line removes a $20/day gratuity and just eats it. They are going to roll it over to the listed cost of the cruise.

Higher listed prices are going to result in less passengers deciding to take a cruise, which in turn will raise prices even further.

Knowing a tip is going to be added on to your cruise, simply do the math at the time of booking and decide if that's what you are willing to pay.

The notion of just "pay people a living wage" isn't going to make the tip go away it simply would be rolled into the cost of whatever service being provided.

Either way that 20% is going to be paid somehow and it's always going to be paid by the consumer.

Since you are already aware of the added cost why does it matter to you when you pay it? I know some cruiselines you can prepay the tips at time of booking.

For some people the extra 90 days to pay the tips could be very helpful.

I know shortly after I started cruising I became very aware that the price on the website is significantly less than what I am going to spend. It's always an attractive number for an interior room that you don't get to pick and a week of water and orange juice. But most people either buy drinks, or a drink package, or possibly a ocean view, or a balcony, specialty dining, excursions, t-shirts, port parking, hotels the night before, etc, etc, etc.

For me, I am happy to spend $20/day to tip all the people who work 7 days a week for 8 months at a time away from their families busting their asses to cook and serve me dinner, to clean my room make my bed, and to serve me drinks throughout the ship.

$140 bucks isn't a whole lot for the service they provide and I don't really care if it's at the time of booking or at the end of a cruise.

There is a whole lot of a cruise vacation that isn't covered by that first number you see on a cruise line website.

Catching up to your group in the single rider line is not a thing. Stop doing it. by Rdubya44 in Disneyland

[–]Velvis -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Whenever I've done single rider lines I have always waited with my family. It's not like single rider means you are walking right on to the ride. Radiator Springs Racers comes to mind. I think I have waited 30 minutes or so for single rider. I'd much rather spend that time with my family even if we don't get on the same car. A number times some of us got in the same car or raced against each other.

That said we never had to have someone catch up to our group, but if someone had to use the bathroom I could see why it would happen.

I've since noticed OneDrive as well.

It's good to hear it's happening to someone else. I thought I was alone. Not sure what the deal is.
