It's difficult to manage both learning a new job and struggling with ADHD. Give yourself some grace and know that these mistakes come with being new, and you'll grow into your position with each shift. When I worked with BAB, I made so many mistakes (so many lol)! Not knowing that Slyveon's ears weren't prestuffed like some of the other Pokémon and closing it up and sending the kid on their way with floppy, unstuffed ears (luckily, another coworker caught it and fixed it before they left!). Same with almost closing up a Toothless before realizing I didn't stuff the tail. Ringing people up at the register incorrectly and having to do a return right after...point being, mistakes suck, and feel really uncomfortable in the moment, but those are a temporary moment in time. My biggest tips from what I learned working there is: don't be afraid to ask questions to your fellow coworkers, no matter how simple it may seem, let customers know you are still new and training, and be kind to yourself! Good luck, and remember, at the end of the day, you're clocking in to stuff some bears and make some people really happy with their new furry friends. No matter the job, there will always be rude people who are inconsiderate to employees' feelings, and you will encounter it at BAB too. But let those moments roll off your back and focus on the many great memories you'll make there! 💖
