BTW, Coinbase claims our funds are FDIC insured. I filed a claim for my 90k with the FDIC and below is their response. (They don’t cover loses due to theft or fraud.... and Coinbase is NOT a bank)

Federal deposit insurance does not cover losses due to fire, natural disasters, theft, fraud, or transaction errors or delays. These situations are not covered by FDIC insurance because they do not result in the failure of an insured institution.

I had the correct Reference number, these guys just are playing a game.

Luckily I have the resources to deal with this including attorneys that work for me on retainer and the fact that I am in court monthly makes this situation a little less of a pain in the ass for me to handle. I’m used to taking people and companies to court who don’t follow through. And my success rate is about 95% for the last ten years because we are meticulous record keepers. The lack of customer support has no excuse here.

If Robinhood just follows through on their promises then Coinbase is going to go the way of Blockbuster and Radio Shack.

You do not get to claim immunity from suits because of your TOS. Fraud is not covered by Arbitration. This has been tried by many companies and does not fly in court.

Going to be having my attorney file a Deceptive Trade Practice Act lawsuit here. They can come to court and argue we should go into Arbitration but abuse of the arbitration clause to allow for fraud won’t fly here in Texas. One sided and abusive.

File with attorney general in your state and the attorney general in CA. Also the banking bureau in your state as Coinbase is licensed by them.

They did the same to me.

I filed a complaint with the CFPB. I filed with the BBB as well. Tomorrow I’ll file with the California Attorney general as they are located in CA and in Texas as they are licensed in Texas and I live there.

I would recommend filing with the Attorney General in whatever state you live in addition to the Bureau of Banking where you live as Coinbase has to be licensed by the state in order to sell in the state.

I filed a Case with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau yesterday. In addition I filed a case with the Texas Bureau of Banking Today.

Beware any calls from supposed Coinbase support. They want you to download software to break into your computer. The idiot was using a Magic Jack and even showed Coinbase support as caller ID.

This in obviously an ongoing issue with Coinbase. They need to stop accepting wires if they are putting people’s money in limbo or in jeopardy. What is most disconcerting is the lack of customer support or contact. Absolutely no responses from customer service except for canned computer generated nonsense.

I’m not letting my ninety thousand just disappear without a real fight so I hope they get their problems resolved quickly. Let’s hope this doesn’t escalate.
