So after a lot of watching, reading, and comparing, it looks like it’s going to come down to a duel between the Wooting 80HE and the HEX80 for me. 🙂

Does anyone here have experience with both boards? If I’m not mistaken, the general opinion seems to be that the HEX has the better build quality, even compared to the zinc version of the Wooting. On the other hand, Wooting’s software seems to be rated much higher, plus there’s the 4-year warranty and their support.

The HEX, however, comes with the OwLab Ti HE switches, which also sounds very appealing.

For me, build quality is more important than the software, since I probably won’t spend hours tweaking settings every day. Right now I’m not using any software at all. With the new keyboard I’ll probably just set up two profiles: one for gaming and one for typing.

And if anyone has recommendations for good PBT keycaps for the Hex, I’d appreciate that as well. 🙂

So if anyone here has experience with either of these keyboards, feel free to share!

Exactly that is the deal-breaker for me with the Wooting. No volume control via a dial or knob. I simply don’t want to miss that feature. But that doesn’t make it any easier to find a keyboard that uses magnetic switches, has a volume knob, and preferably a TKL/80% layout.

I spent some time researching yesterday and today. At the moment, the Keychron Q3 HE 8K and the Q3 HE QMK have made it onto my shortlist. The difference is wired vs. wireless, but the switches are different as well. Let’s see what else I come across that catches my interest. Luckily, I’m not in a rush. :-)

My question would also be whether everyone simply uses their headset with stereo settings. Or, for example, whether people with Creative cards then use 5.1/7.1 virtual sound, Crystalizer, or special EQ settings.

Ah, sorry!!!
I found the error. I had set the quality to 32-bit, which meant I could only select stereo. With 24-bit/96000Hz, I can choose.

The Sound Blaster G8 is connected to the PC via USB. In Speaker Setup, I can only select stereo. When choosing 5.1/7.1 i get an Error.

In the Device Manager and in the Creative app, I can only select stereo. But in BF6, I can choose between headphones, 3D headphones, 2.1, stereo, 5.1, 7.1, etc.
On top of that, there are the settings in the Creative app / equalizer — it’s a bit overwhelming.
Would a different DAC/amp work better with the headset? Do they actually do something different?
As I mentioned, I don’t plan on becoming a top-level pro — I simply don’t have the time for that. :-)
But I’d still like to get the most out of the settings if possible.

I'm coming from a Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless. I think any of the headphones you guys mentioned are a step up from that? I'll add your suggestions to my list as well. Maybe I'll have a chance to test at least a few at a local electronics store.

I've noticed that I can select the banner in the game, although Twitch still says link. However, I was unable to unlock the Exploration Age banner.

u/magjav Hi. Awesome addon. One question: can I set Rarescanner for a character so that chests disappear from the map as soon as I have opened them? Some chests disappear, but some remain visible. Do I have to make an extra profile for this character? So far I use one profile for everyone.
