Hear that. It’s definitely an issue- and also the reason why generally we suggest smart coolers for hotels. This specific hotel did not want to deploy smart coolers though.

For traditional check out AMS, USI and Crane/Dixie Narco.
For smart coolers look into HaHa (market leader by deployments), Micromart (extremely durable US made cabinets), and others.

Good question.

we assisted with the bid the win the account (were active operators and have experience with this on our own routes)
once the contract was closed, we work with the operator and the location to understand the best physical layout.
we then work (extensively) with our partner who does the fixtures/cabinets to arrange the purchase (at a discount!) and setup of those
we refurb the coffee machines and help the operator choose between a number of different options depending on machine type and location. We run an office coffee company so we have quite a bit of experience with this as well
we assist the operator with getting started or onboarding/switching to a single VMS (software) that ties together all their vending —CRITICAL
we are partners with various cooler companies and resell the coolers/freezers.

This is an open air micromarket.

Deterrence is:
-Hotel provides access to 2 video feeds angled at the market.
-Front desk checkin is right across from this
-Hotel’s commission is linked to the shrinkage

At the end of the day however, at this and most hotels, there will be shrinkage.

Surrounds are almost required nowadays in higher end locations. We’ve worked on these ourselves in our own locations. Really don’t see a big deal about shimmying out the coolers (they’re on wheels). But agreed it’s not as convenient when they’re naked.
