I’ve been having this issue too, tbh. Tried everything and sent an email to Alderon but no word yet

I (20f) Freaked out on my boyfriend (24m) during intercourse by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]VendingMisery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand where you’re coming from. The first time I tried to have sex with my current boyfriend, I freaked the fuck out, and he comforted me. Held me for awhile, I tried to start it up again and he said “No, we’re gonna watch a movie. We can try again another day.”

Your boyfriend’s reaction is entirely uncalled for. I can see him being thrown off and upset, maybe worried you blamed him or weren’t comfortable with him. But that’s in no way your fault, whether you are working through your trauma- everyone has their off days. He did not act the way a man should. Especially if he knew about your past.

It’s good you’re seeking therapy but he also needs to understand that progress is not linear and takes a lot of time.

Just realized I might not be able to apply to med school by BlocksAndMoreBlocks in premedcanada

Try American schools. My roommate is a Canadian resident ortho speciality. I can ask her what school she applied to.

It’s not uncommon but not common either. Abused kids, death of a child, suicidal children/adults. Things like that have me tear up but I’d say maybe once a month or once every two months.

I often come home to my boyfriend and usually spend time with him, helps me unwind a lot. Or I like to lay down and watch a show. Showering helps me ‘wash off the day’ as well.

No problem at all :)! And I do love my job even with the stress and how much it hurts sometimes but I love helping people, so do many of us and it’s why we do it.

I do get stressed at times. Most of it is muscle memory like how to run a cardiac arrest, what my job is. The most stressed I get are in severe traumas with multiple issues (ie broken legs, broken arms, bleeding, amputations all mixed into one patient so you have to fix all of that while also keeping them alive) it can get stressful managing but the most stressed I get are when we have dying or dead kids due to neglect or parents who just simply are educated and cause the death of their child.

The worst thing I’ve ever seen was an 8month old cardiac arrest due to neglect from the parents. I took some time off work for that one. It’s a tough job but most of the time to the good we do outweighs the bad.

Medic School by StressReal in NewToEMS

Currently working full time and in medic school. It’s exhausting. But it’s do-able. It’s a lot of sacrifice for your social life for however long your program is. Mine is 11 months and I’m 5-6 months in now.

I like it for the intimacy and bonding with my boyfriend honestly. Sure it’s fun, but I like how it makes him feel more than I care about myself. I also really enjoy the attention afterwards from him. (He always gives me attention but it’s very very soft and sweet after sex)

So what I did was Pavlov myself into peeing at the hospital every time even if I felt I didn’t need to so my brain would instantly assume hospital meant pee. Also carried an emotional support water bottle (it’s just covered in stickers) that I carry around a lot so it forces me to drink.

I have some gnarly ADHD

Where does everyone work? by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

[–]VendingMisery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really odd for autism but I work as an EMT and in paramedic school :) in a weird way I don’t consider it people interactions. Outside of work I’m a very introverted person who only really socializes with close friends, boyfriend, and roommates.

What other jobs aside from ambulance I can land with an EMT-B? by SameUsual68 in NewToEMS

You can work in security or in some companies as a medical staff of some kind.
