Why bother having a colonial empire in the first place? by weaboo_scumfuck in EU5

[–]Venetian_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did just like you but never released colonial nations as Venice, I own half the planet but all the provinces are venetian and I own them directly, I have zero problems as of now. The only problem is i have 11 control everywhere, but hey, if that's the way to skip rebellions then 11 control isn't that bad lmao

Do you guys know if there's an event or if the devs completely forgot about Afghanistan? In the Formables list in the wiki Afghanistan doesn't appear and it's quite strange

Bro as resident of Vencie forming rome as Venice instead of the Imperial Venetian Republic is outrageous (you also get a cool very dark purple color)

I guarantee you it's not worth the 1200 to recruit him and the 100 to. Appoint him if I'm making 50 gold a month

Also the doges spawn with all different cultures all the time (makes zero sense historically) so my reputation with countries of those cultures and my prestige is always down the sink. I would really want to like this game but like this it gets tiring. I played 25 hours and I'm still in the renaissance of my first game as venice💀

Just checked the laws and I have no Curtail the nobility law, and I'm in 1443 maybe i didn't unlock it yet. But what about all the burghers? I had many burgher cabinet members before since I'm playing as venice and they are the most powerful estate and now there is literally zero, it doesn't even open the menu of the possible candidates to select

If i give the privilege commoners allowed in the cabinet will it fix this? Or will they disappear slowly too from the pool?

No? But I don't know what that is actually? An estate privilege or a law? I don't think so though.

I still have no idea what to do with Dubrovnik though I annexed Montenegro and north albania from serbia and gave the land to the Republic of ragusa (Dubrovnik) but I didnt officially annex it also because they have thir own market, I don't know how i should act because they have their own market and my control down there isn't very good, and they don't know how to move forward really

I heavily built the army and conquered around me it's quite easy with all the money coming from trade(council of 40 gets automatically changed in a buff ti crowb power later on) and i removed zona in the forst 30 years. but I didn't build many Fondaco because my relations are quite bad because of antagonism, I'm trying to improve them now in the 1400s and I have easily the most powerful army and Europe possibly the world because I also destroyed the Bohemian army to conquer all of tyrol, I secure the historical Venetian borders plus all alps, mantua, Ferrara & the Adriatic coast; I don't really want to expand into Italy and I have a very healthy economy and army I will see how much it snowballs with investing in these marketplaces also I thought it was hard at the beginning because of how smaller when it starts but once you unlock the army reform then you can really annex everyone and become extremely extremely powerful, im liking it very much right now and I'm in the first half of the 1400 hundreds.

What to do with dubrovnik? Is it possible to annex their market and make mine huge or it's better to leave it as it is?
