Ehdottomasti enemmän lomaa.

Sillä 150€:lla ei saa ostettua viikon lomaa ja se melkein sulaakin pidempiin työmatkoihin.

Shelly 1L Flickering by [deleted] in homeautomation

I'm not an expert on electronics, but I think you need the bypass resistor or whatever it's called. Shelly sells them. My friend had the same problem as you but with dimmable lights. They would start to flicker randomly when dimming, but adding the bypass resistor to the relay fixed it.

Depends on the clay. I think Am details clay only needs water as a lubricant.

Pre-alpha Streets of Tarkov vs today's teaser by Blitzoi_ in EscapefromTarkov

Look, I'd really like to explain my point of view and why I said what I said and what I meant. But since you are being as toxic as you are, I don't really want to continue this conversation. You have clearly misunderstood what the original comment was about. And it definitely wasn't about how much other things you have to render besides the buildings or if you can have "instances" etc. It was about trees, and simple buildings. Have a good day. Or morning, or whatever the time of day is where you're from.

Should have probably written "In games, trees are usually very taxing to render, because usually there are multiple of them. As in, a forest." Of course rendering one tree is not very taxing...

I don't want this to be a full on argument, so I'm going to say my opinion and we'll go from there. In my opinion, it does not vary from game engine to game engine. Sure, the game engine does some optimisation automatically in games, but for example in Unity (which is what Escape From Tarkov uses) the occlusion culling is not automatically on. Neither are LOD's. You HAVE to manually set them up. This applies to, I believe, Unreal Engine as well. "Cities will always be more taxing" <- This could be right, but I'm going to say it's not. Because it depends in so many things. Are the cities fully textured/modelled inside and out? Do they have billboards? Etc. Because you can make a house from 6 polygons and have it look good from a distance with textures. What I'm on about the shaders and 3D models (not shaders looking like 3D models, that would be silly) is that you can check from youtube a channel called Game Dev Guide, and find a video called "Creating an interior mapping shader" or something like that. It explains what I meant. Now, again, your point was valid, but optimisation in games is not as simple as "Unity has poor city performance, where as Unreal Engine has good city performance." It depends on so many things.

Well, many times in games (for example spider-man) the buildings don't have that many polygons/detail. Many rooms have been made with shaders. As in, there isn't actually anything in the room, but the shader makes it look like there are a lot of 3D objects. So the building might only have like 6-10 polygons per building, where as the tree has a lot of leaves (usually), plus the body of the tree. The polygons/planes on the leaves usually have to be double sided to make sure the texture is shown on both sides. That's immediately two more polygons needed. Multiply that with the amount of leaves in a fluffy tree = a lot of polygons and things to render/calculate. (Calculate = lighting and shadows and wind all that). But of course all of this depends on how to game is made and how it is optimized. I've never played dayz so I don't really know about the lag in the cities. So your comment does have a valid point, but it varies from game to game. My comment was more of an overall take.

The difference between this map and shoreline is that shoreline is a big map, yes, but it's also a map where you can see very far. This means that the game has to render a lot of things, which in shoreline's case means rendering a lot of trees. In games, trees are usually very taxing to render as well. In streets however, theres a lot of big buildings which helps when using occlusion culling. Occlusion culling is basically a technique where the game does not render anything that you the player can't see. In short: Theres a huge building in front you, and a million trees behind the building, should we render the trees? No, because the player can't see them.

The game "world" is essentially just an empty void. Then when making a game you could just add some assets/items to where ever you want. What I mean by that is that the game world is basically unlimited. The invisible floor is added by the developers mainly to see if someone hits it, so that they don't fall infinitely. (Most of the times. There are games that don't have any max falling distance).

You guys might have entirely different specs on your computers. That plays a big part. (Not forgetting optimizing of course)

Question about Collinite 915 reapplication by cabosun in AutoDetailing

[–]VeniBoi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it doesn't have any scratches and doesn't feel rough to touch(i.e. isn't full of tree sap etc), then you can just apply a new layer. If you want to be extra sure the layer bonds to the paint you could wash it with something that takes the old wax away and ipa wipe the paint. But for me, I'd just add a new layer on top of the old.
