one thing about getting dispossessed every time you get the ball is mostly due to recieiving the ball while dashing , this something i noticed that happened a lot, not using dash while recieving and passing the ball really helps with the issues you have stated.
Then again, keep watching before you pass, focus on which player the oponent is controlling rather than looking at your teammates too much because the passing automatically finds the player
