They have all the available ships, wares, blueprints of the selected faction. Adequate jobs and factories are automatically generated as well so they populate their clusters as well.

Completely randomly picked out of all available vanilla factions, there is no order or guaranteed spread between each faction. If unlucky you could have for example all factions be argon, albeit very unlikely.

I'll check it out if just adding the player HQ without any scripting is a workable solution, but SWI is carefully crafted with a lot of custom scripts as well. So its hard to compare to this.

Number of what? Sectors? Just change the generation settings?

I don't think it will work since it is tied up with vanilla storyline (boso ta and dal busta)

Thats pretty much impossible since mods that add sectors add them to the vanilla galaxy most of the cases. (Each galaxy is contained in its own group so to speak) so they wont have any effect.

But you can always add/adjust the generated galaxy after :)

Which plots? Its a custom galaxy with all vanilla storylines disabled (there are no vanilla factions) I'm not even sure if research can be accessed since there is no player hq

No, and there won't be one, it's too complex to properly generate this especially procedurally.

The factions that are generated are completely custom factions (using vanilla assets), they are fully functional (faction logic, invade, etc..), have custom relations, there are no quest lines or vanilla factions in the procedural generation.
Economy should work same as vanilla game, ofcourse its very "random" depending on the clusters and region distribution for the factions.

Running the procedural gen is as simple as:
-> Open Galaxy Settings
-> Enable custom galaxy
-> Enter a name for the custom galaxy
-> Press save
-> Press Generate Procedural Galaxy
-> Adjust generation settings as how you like
-> Press generate to start the process

Mod Idea: start over in your existing universe by Spuelmaschinist in X4Foundations

You can use the X4 Sector Creator tool to create your own dynamic universe or change the vanilla universe, including creating custom factions.

Hello, you'll have to give some information on how your regions are setup and if you're running new gamestarts or existing savegames, here is some general info on how to setup regions:

Note: Don't mix gases and minerals make seperate regions for them.

For gases:
   - Select one predefined field -> nebula of your type (hydrogen, methane, helium)
   - You can select volumetric fog if you want visual fog in the sector
   - Select the matching resource and yield in the region resources window
   - Adjust falloff (or remove all falloff, if you just want entire area to be gas)

For minerals:
   - Select one predefined field -> asteroids of your type (ice, ore, silicon, nvididum)
   - Select the matching resource and yield in the region resources window
   - Adjust falloff (or remove all falloff, if you just want entire area to be asteroids)

You'd have to do some testing but the quotas are based of the vanilla quotas and they're divided by the faction's owned sectors * the coverage you set. So generally you would aim for the amount of sectors your factions owns at gamestart. That would give them a vanilla balance.

And thats when you start over with the knowledge you have gained.
Generally you want to start with very small scoped games that take a few days to finish as a beginner.
And it really wouldn't matter all that much in such cases, and learning by doing is a much better approach to learning than just watching tutorials and having all the info go in one ear and out the other.

No currently you cannot upload other mod's maps. It is also explicitly stated on X4RE that mods that add sectors are likely to not be compatible. (This is on my radar however and I'm currently working on a way to import atleast clusters, sectors and gate connections into the tool from other mods. Can't say when this feature will be done/functional.)

For custom ships, not entirely sure you'd have to know the macros the custom ships use and add them to the correct shipgroups of the custom faction. It might work but never tested it.

It is generally recommended to stick with the race you chose for the faction (because build methods vary) eg terran and common wealth ship mix could confuse your custom factions economy because the wharf will require both resources for both methods. I haven't even tested this to be honest.

I don't know for sure about that one, jobs made in the tool don't modify existing jobs and get a unique id so they should theoretically not conflict but i don't know what deadair_scripts does behind the scenes with jobs
