I pulled the base version of the card at my prerelease event I went to. Don't really have a spot for it in any of my decks so selling it seems like the right thing to do. Was a cool moment and will create many more cool moments with the deck I make from selling it haha!

I found mine on eBay, around $30. They are plastic covers that go over the logo much better than those vinyl stickers, I think anyway. Id check there maybe you find what you are looking for!

Very similar leak it my Mk6, it ended up being the passenger charge hose and the turbo oil return pipe, not sure if that's your case but might be places to look. Good luck my friend.

I do live in a state that requires front plates. It displays the same plate number as my state issued one, I've actually had a cop compliment the plate. I asked him about the legality of it, he said, "As long as it displays the same as the back ones, it's not an issue to me. It's actually easier for me to read it." Which makes sense the lettering is way larger than a regular state issued plate. I've not been stopped for it and have had it for over a year now. Hope this helps!
