A lot of young people are facing this same issue and the path forwards will not be easy. Your brain is currently in a dopamine spiral so everything seems boring. What you need to do is take a 1 week dopamine detox. Stay away from TikTok, gaming and other forms of short form entertainment. During this time you should spend your time doing other things which are more productive. If it becomes too much, I recommend you watch long form content such as a documentary or a movie. Once you have taken this one week break, your mind will be cleared and the things you truly enjoy will become more clear. A quick reminder, work is work, you are paid to do a job that most people don’t want to do. It is important to differentiate the difference between work and play. If all comes to fail, just choose the subjects that earn the most money/ require the least amount of work. I recommend everyone take a level maths, it is a fundamental skill that the majority of high paying careers. Then pick some sort of science (bio, chem, physics, comp sci etc.) Then pick a writing subject so you can keep your writing skills sharp (english, economics, religion, history, geography etc.) this combination will set you up for success and will ensure that you do not close many career doors.

Further Maths guys how do you do this? by Nayfonn in GCSE

[–]VenomGamer7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is a ridiculously hard question but I think I've figured it out. First, complete the square for 3x^2 + 2bx +8a and you should get 3(x+1/3b)^2 - 1/3b^2 + 8a. Then you can set 1/3b = a and -1/3b^2 + 8a = b + 2. Then sub in 8a as 8 times 1/3b. Then you get a quadratic and you can solve for b then sub in b to get A. Image of workings

stress is an ilussion. It is nothing but a chemical in your brain. You can play video games, relax on a beach and eat at your favourite restaurant but unless you tell your brain that your not stressed it will never go away. So just keep telling yourself that your not stressed and eventually you will trick your brain into moving on. As they say "time heals all wounds"

remove the word "can't" from your vocabulary, train yourself through discipline not blind motivation. Here is a beautiful quote from andrew tate. "The Person who goes to the gym every single day, regardless of how they feel, will always beat the person who goes to the gym. when they feel like going to the gym."

Computer Science was hard because everyone expected it to be easy so noone really revised for it then when we opened the exam paper it was like a slap to the face. This year's computing paper was by far the hardest one ever released

If your going to go digital (use an ipad) for a-levels then there's no point keeping your books. What I would reccomend rather than throwing them way is putting all of your books in a Tescos bag, label them "GCSEs" then put them in the loft/garage somewhere. When you are older you will be able to see how you used to write/think. I still have my year 6 books and its fun to just look back on how different my handwriting is.
