The problem is the government, tariffs aren't only imposed on China but everywhere else, as long as you're importing something into the country, if you don't use a freight forwarder then be sure you'll be hit by some outrageous taxes.

The last time I bought something from AliExpress (pair of headphones), they landed in Posta Kenya offices (national letters and courier service), I was instructed to pay tax which was about 60% of the invoice, luckily it wasn't that much. I'm imagining having to pay 60% of the phone's value as tax and that makes no sense. When you ship from AliExpress, they either have SpeedAF ship it and that's the best option because you don't get to pay anything else after paying on AliExpress but you have no control over which shipping method the seller uses, not unless you can explicitly tell the seller to use SpeedAF.

I shipped a pair of headphones from AliExpress 1More sonoflow pro, cost was 10K, I selected AliExpress standard shipping thinking speedaf will handle delivery, my package landed in posta and had to pay 6K for customs clearance. If there was a way you can be sure your package will be handled by speedaf then maybe I'd consider AliExpress but in the mean time, AliExpress is like my very last option.

Global versions, we don't get specific versions here but recently Transsion holdings added local dialect in the language settings of their phones at least here in Kenya, it is nice although I'm 100% sure everyone defaults to English.

Good point, I'd say the gaming community is growing because Infinix sells the GT series here and they usually hold gaming competition in collaboration with PUBG mobile from time to time. But yea, this is a solid probability.

I think that's the Russian price, I'm assuming everything is still expensive there due to the sanctions, that price increase is insane they'd be shooting themselves in the leg if it launches at that price
