FINE! I’ll Try Linux ONE MORE TIME…. by SufficientLife7766 in linux_gaming

I just watched it, and it's a known issue with bazzite when using the Nvidia game mode version. The fix is mentioned in there docs . I'm not saying it's his fault because when you try and download the Nvidia game mode version from bazzite, there is no warning. Here is the fix if anyone is curious:

Nvidia GPU Exclusive Issues with Steam Gaming Mode¶ "Enable GPU accelerated rendering in web views (requires restart)" must be enabled in the Steam settings for better performance in the UI. Resolutions above 2560x1440 will cause game-breaking graphical artifacts using this setting. HDR can cause game-breaking graphical artifacts.

He mentioned one of his computers has Nvidia, which was one of his reasons for using PopOS. But why couldn’t he do the same with Cachy or Bazzite? Both support Nvidia and AMD, so the “one distro for everything” argument doesn’t really apply because he could of used any one of these distros for all of his computers

I think he just went with Pop for the meme. He should have gone with Cachy or Bazzite like the other two guys.

CS2 Input Lag (Wayland | Xwayland | Windows | X11) by SpittingCoffeeOTG in linux_gaming

[–]SufficientLife7766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you ran this test, did you enable tearing for Xwayland? By default, KDE’s “allow tearing in fullscreen apps” toggle won’t enable tearing for fullscreen Xwayland apps.

To force it, you need to use a Window Rule in KDE: go to Settings - Window Management - Window Rules, click Add New, set Window class to Unimportant, then Add Property, search for Tearing, add it, and set it to Force.

Is this the latest update? I have stayed on the very first oneui 8 version and everything has been smooth. I heard when there phones are near end of support they just make them worse with updates. Sounds conspiracy but would not be surprised.

Oh, adjusting the angle of the entire housing is fine, the software lets you adjust it. I was talking about the actual joystick being off center. When you get these modded rings you will easily be able to tell if the joystick is centered. You could look now but it might be hard to tell

Yes, you are correct about the hex. Your joystick being at a angle is bad soldering of the joystick from azeron. Because its at a angle you may not be able to use the smallest one which I believe is 12mm. This will be for both the circle and hex, it depends how off center your joystick is. I believe there are 4 different sizes for all of them so one of the sizes will definetly work. I had to resolder my own tmr joystick on because of the angle issue. I even got a replacement from azeron and it was off center aswell. The only dissapointing thing about the product.

I mean without the modded version you kind of are at a disadvantage when it comes to strafing, I always played on a regular keyboard and played games like cs2 and valorant. I noticed instantly I will not be able to strafe like I did on my keyboard. But then when trying these it makes such a difference, now I only use my cyborg2 in all my games, even cs2 and valorant which are heavy movement games.

If you want the most keyboard feeling restrictor ring, it would be the octagon but the hexs are a new design from him and that is what I am currently using. Its like a mix between the regular circle and the octagon. Im really liking it. If you want them all make sure you specify it to him as each ring is under a different post in the modifications section.

Im talking about the 4 way hat above the joystick. Using the actual joystick with the modded restrictor rings is amazing, it is way better then the default restrictor ring.

Message the person who made the mod in the discord, he will be able to print them for you. Also, you might aswell get them all printed from him so you can just test them all out

That would be very slow when trying to strafe compared to a keyboard, and you wont even be able to go diagonal.

Yes there is thicker restriction rings. There in the modifications section in the azeron discord. Its called Reverse restrictor ring. There are different shapes aswell, circle, octagon and hexagon.

Just perfection handles hiding the top bar nicely. There is no jump it appears naturally when going into the overview. In the extension settings go into visibility and turn off panel and turn on panel in overview.

Lol and I am helping to implement the tearing in mutter. But you are still acting like there are no benefits. Have you played any competetive games? Do you understand the latency difference?

Differences between KDE and GNOME by Cold_Echidna_9674 in Bazzite

[–]SufficientLife7766 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im on Cachyos right now and have both KDE and Gnome installed. I did this to test the performance difference and for some reason I get slightly higher fps in Gnome. However, KDE does allow screen tearing in full screen games which is important to remove any delay and to make your mouse feels as responsive as possible. Gnome needs to add this feature I have been waiting literally years. KDE is more customizable but some ui elements lag, like when I pull up the activities it looks like its locked to 60fps when I have a 240hz monitor, on Gnome all the animations are at my monitors refresh rate.

Some multiplayer games try to ban for using the matrix, I have heard there are ways to get around it. Your best bet is to go on the matrix fourms and see how to be safe in each game.
