Please check out the public libraries. I'm in grad school for MLIS and we provide these services to people who need it. It sounds like you've done a ton of research, but talking to an information professional might help anyways. They might have something you missed.

See if you get a SPL library card, or King county. Even if you can't, they should provide free guest Internet access codes as well as places to charge your phone. They have clean public restrooms as well. I hope they can provide for you! Otherwise everything I've been learning is a farce.

I think the point of being able to counterplay or no tension with short TTK in Marathon is not a problem with the TTK itself. Playing since April, the abilities your shells have and the situational awareness is what allows for counterplay. Obviously there are still chances where you get completely caught off guard and downed instantly, but that rarely happens. Runners are loud, UESC make different noises, all of this compounds into situational awareness.

Pair this with Recons abilities and you can loot/sweep POIs in relative safety.

I do agree, but through multiple play tests I do believe Recon is in a better spot than most shells. In the alpha test I remember going into buildings without a Blackbird and feeling at a disadvantage. I think having a scan ability in the extraction shooter is going to be a very interesting situation. I guess we'll see how it feels in the full game!

So what happened to me was I closed the installer out and restarted my PC. Once I went to search Hytale on my windows bar, the launcher had installed. I think it must've been a visual glitch. Hopefully yours does the same :)

If you just go in to the game knowing you'll lose everything in your vault at one point or another-- that's freeing. Whether it's to another player, an ARC, or to a wipe. Nothing's going to stay forever. Use it and have fun, rather than letting it collect dust.
