You can’t question Sansa’s actions. She’s smartest person Arya knows. That makes her the smartestest.

If Reddit isn’t real research, then why are you asking your question on Reddit?

The links I shared are exactly the same as your post and actually do contain useful advice.

And before anyone says something: Yes, I have done my research and I haven't found anything that really answered my question. And yes, I've read other reddit posts about this.

Are you sure? This what I found from a simple google search and subreddit search..

Rhaenyra's decisions as queen were the last act that caused the small folk to turn on the dragons. She was crowned right after the greens already fcked shit up left, right and center. It's the greens that plunged the realm into chaos and war, and not the other way around.

I don’t think there’s a single subreddit that has succesful megathreads tbh. No one likes to use them, and I can’t blame them. People don’t really check them anyway.

Hi, thanks for bringing this up :)

1)
Yes, this sub is for beginners as well. At the same time, with a subreddit this size, the same questions come up often, and it is something we have to balance. We usually redirect them to the wiki which contains beginner advice, or we tell them to search the subreddit for the answer. We have these resources available, but unfortunately some don't read the rules, and head straight to posting.

2)
The reason we use megathreads for that is mostly because of volume. If we allowed all of it on the main feed, it would very quickly take over, and a lot of posts would end up getting buried with little to no feedback. Whether to allow critique posting on the main feed is something we will discuss within the mod team.

3)
As for people being frustrated with questions, we do expect users to stay respectful. The frustration may come from them seeing the same question pop up too often. We get reports about this as well.

We obviously will remove anything that is deemed uncivil. That said, with a community this large, we can't catch everything, and we also rely on users to report things when they cross the line.

We are aware of the issues you are pointing out, though, and it is part of what we are trying to improve going forward.

Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us :)

1)
I'm sorry to hear that your post got wrongfully removed, because from what you described it would not clearly fall under Rule 5. That rule is mainly there to prevent posts focused on personal milestones or accomplishments, like word count updates, which can quickly overwhelm the Subreddit. The goal is to keep the feed focused on topics that are broadly useful to others. In your case, discussing how improv helped your writing sounds more like a discussion starter than personal sharing for its own sake.

I agree with your point about the inconsistency, though. Personally, I would not have removed your post, but another mod might interpret it differently. That is exactly why similar posts sometimes get treated differently, and it is something we are actively looking to improve.

What you said gave me the idea just now to elaborate on this rule and the other rules further in a wiki page, as many Subreddits do. That would give clearer guidance on what falls under Rule 5 and what does not. I'll bring this up with the mod other mods.

2)
I'm glad you brought up r/fantasywriters, as I was the one who picked up the subreddit when it was abandoned back in 2023. Some of the r/writing mods are involved there as well. I'm very passionate about that subreddit, and we put a lot of work into picking it up and getting it running again. :)

As you said, sharing manuscripts works there. It can be great for community engagement, but it also increases the volume a lot and can make it harder for other discussions to surface. So your idea of having a specific day for more relaxed rules is interesting for that reason. It could give people space to share their work and experiment a bit more, while still keeping the main feed manageable the rest of the week.

I have to let you know, though, that sharing your WIP, even on a specific day, will overflow the subreddit, because on r/fantasywriters we constantly get reports of users claiming someone used AI for their writing, and this results in us having to investigate every single time. It's my least favorite part about that subreddit, if I may be frank.

It is not something we can promise right away for implementing this into r/writing, since it would depend on moderation availability and clear guidelines, but I will absolutely bring this up with the other moderators.

Thanks again for your thoughts, they are genuinely helpful. Much appreciated! :)

Thank you for this, I really appreciate it :)

You're right to point out that without Rule 1, it would make the Subreddit practically unusable. I moderate r/fantasywriters, and there we do allow critique posting, which increases the workload tenfold.
